EPCOT is a literal maze of construction walls and gutted buildings at the moment. The theme park is undergoing a MASSIVE overhaul that will totally transform the theme park. Guests will be able to experience all sorts of new adventures when it’s all said done. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
We took a stroll around the glitz and glamour of the bustling young movie town this week. Here, we found new merchandise and had a VERY interesting experience with the Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group proccess.
Disney World will often close attractions, restaurants, or resorts for refurbishments. Some closures are scheduled in advance while others are unexpected and due to maintenance issues or other reasons.

You won’t always find the closures advertised before your trip so it’s good to stay in the know! We’re here to help you plan ahead by listing all the planned refurbishments for this week. Check out everything this will be closed between January 25th through January 31st!

Disney World has implemented limited capacities for all the theme parks including gift shops, restaurants, and attractions.
Dok Ondar’s Line
Virtual queues for gift shops and other locations have been introduced to help reduce crowding and lines. Sometimes, guests will need to scan a QR code that will redirect to a virtual queue sign up. Other times, they need to talk to a Cast Member to get “in line.” Once you’re signed up, you can enjoy other parts of the park until it’s your time to return. We noticed the virtual queue sign up was a little different at Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Not every Disney World attraction is open 365 days a year! Some are scheduled to close for touch-ups or large construction projects.
Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island Construction
Some refurbishments are scheduled months in advance and others are in need of maintenance. It’s good practice to know what Disney World rides and shows are closed so you can plan ahead! Knowing beforehand allows you to create an itinerary based on what’s closed and what’s open in the theme parks! Let’s take a look at next week’s refurbishment schedule between January 18th through January 24th, 2021.Â
When it comes to Disney World rides, not all seats are created equal.
Big Thunder Mountain
The attraction vehicles are designed to give guests a good experience from any seat. That doesn’t mean that every seat is the best seat. Some seats offer a better view and others offer a smoother ride. You might notice that the back row of Pirates of the Caribbean is cozier and feels a bit more private than the crowded middle seat! And, thrill-seekers love to sit in the front row of Space Mountain to get the total illusion of bolting through space. It takes a few rides on each attraction before you can determine which seat has the coolest experience. Most of the time, you only have one chance to ride Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train during your vacation so you gotta make it count! To help you out, we’re breaking down the BEST and WORST places to be seated at each attraction in the Magic Kingdom!
The Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts just kicked off and we’ve eaten A LOT of goodies lately.
Chicken and Mushroom Pie
There’s one dish that stood out today…and it has nothing to do with the festival! We were strolling by our favorite fish and chip joint in EPCOT and noticed a placard for the Chicken and Mushroom Pie. Ummm. Chicken and mushrooms stuffed in a puff pastry? Don’t mind if we do!
