We know it rains often because we go to Disney World every day, but we don’t want that to ruin our day. Of course, we have our basic rainy day essentials, but this new item we’ve tried will be sticking with us and we had to share about it.
Many Disney fans have heard of rope dropping. The term rope drop can mean different things for different people, but typically, rope dropping is when you are in the park, past the turnstiles, BEFORE the park opens.

Usually, people arrive about an hour before the park opens to ensure that they are at the rope in front of each of the lands. You will hear a lot about rope dropping on your Disney trip and how it might be worth it. But, we are here to hold your hand and tell you some hard truths about rope dropping that others might not tell you.

We are sure you’ve heard about the new theme park coming to town and we are thinking people will be ditching Disney World and looking to it instead, especially Gen Z.
There are some great perks that Disney World offers to guests staying at their hotels.
Grand Floridian Resort
If you are staying on Disney property you get a 30-minute early entry to all of the parks. If you want to purchase Lightning Lanes and make ride reservations in advance, hotel guests get to do that 7 days out from check-in versus just 3 days out for non-resort guests. In 2025 there’s a big perk coming for resort guests and it includes 2 free tickets!

We saw it switch from the free services, FastPass and FastPass+, to Genie Plus, a paid version. Then Genie Plus changed to Lightning Lane, which is still a paid skip-the-line system. Universal Orlando has the Express Pass which is their version of this system and actually, some fans say it is better than Disney’s system. So let’s break these down and see which one comes out on top.
