We’ve seen a lot of new character interactions pop up in Disney World recently!

From the Mandalorian and Grogu to The Incredibles, there are plenty of new ways to stop and visit your favorite Disney pals in the parks. But coming soon, we’ve got a new meet-and-greet in Disney World that we think will be VERY popular!
We’re just a few weeks away from the opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom, and we’re getting pumped!
TRON Lightcycle / Run
Thanks to previews, we’ve already been able to check out the ride, but now we’ve got some other things to be excited about. Recently, Disney revealed plans for a new snack stand just outside the ride, and now we’ve got more information about the merchandise and unique experiences that will open soon!
If you tuned in to the news from the D23 Expo last year, then you know that there are some BIG things coming in the future for The Walt Disney Company.
D23 Expo
The panels at the fan event discussed everything from movies to shows to theme park projects around the world. Many of the Disney parks projects that were discussed were things we already knew about, but then towards the end of the presentation, we ventured into “Blue Sky” territory — things that MIGHT come to the parks in the future. And now we’re left wondering which of those ideas will actually come to fruition!
Quite a few things have CHANGED in Disney World in 2023.
Magic Kingdom
We’ve seen old rides close while new ones open, the addition of more dining offerings, and the return of character offerings that were unavailable during the pandemic. But now, we’ve got another big change on the horizon — the closure of a classic Disney restaurant!
It seems like we’re constantly getting new restaurants in Disney World these days!
Space 220
From the ones that arrived with the 50th Anniversary (like Space 220 and Steakhouse 71) to the newer options coming soon (like Roundup Rodeo BBQ), there are plenty of exciting new places to eat in the parks and resorts. But soon, we’ll be getting a NEW hotel restaurant in Disney World!
Disney is constantly developing new technology to use in the theme parks.
It’s HULK!
Sometimes it’s things like My Disney Experience and Disney Genie+ that you can access on your phone, but other times it’s impressive new ride systems or animatronics that look so realistic it’s hard to believe they’re fake (we’re looking at you — Na’vi River Journey Shaman of Song!). But even with all the interesting things we’ve seen so far, Disney isn’t stopping yet!

Back in November, Bob Chapek was ousted as the head of the company and replaced by his predecessor, Bob Iger. Since then, we’ve seen many changes — in personnel, operations, and in business strategies for the company. Bob Iger has a lot of forward-thinking ideas for Disney, and in a recent interview, he mentioned some big plans for Disneyland Resort.
It’s pretty common for people in the Disney fandom to have a collection of some souvenir or another.
Ears in Disney World
Some people collect Minnie ears or Loungefly bags, while others have Christmas ornaments or mugs. Others go for the more unique and rare souvenirs — collectibles from the early days of the parks or expensive limited-edition items. And if you’re a treasure hunter looking for some new items like that, we’ve got just the thing!
Ever since Bob Iger took back over as Disney CEO, we’ve heard quite a few interesting comments about the future of the company.

We’ve seen changes in leadership and organization, we’ve had announcements for updates in the parks, and Iger has even revealed plans for new films in the works. We’ve got the grand opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run on April 4th, but before that happens, two major fireworks shows are ending their run at Disney World — Harmonious and Disney Enchantment. Disney Enchantment is being replaced by its predecessor, Happily Ever After, and it looks like Disney is getting ready for the return of the show.
