One of our favorite snack spots in Disneyland — the Mint Julep Bar — has been closed for a while as Disney renovates French Market Restaurant to become Tiana’s Palace. We got a sneak peek at the new Tiana’s Palace Restaurant recently, but it’s not expected to officially open until September 7th. San Fransokyo Square opens TODAY, August 31st, in Disney California Adventure. This spot used to be known as Pacific Wharf but is now themed to Disney’s Big Hero 6 movie, with updated restaurants, gift shops, and character meet-and-greets. Let’s check it out!

Hurricane Idalia is nearing Florida, and residents are preparing now in advance of the storm’s landfall.
Storm in Hollywood Studios
The storm is expected to hit eastern Florida on Wednesday morning (August 30th), and it will pass through the state later that day. The Orange County mayor, Mayor Demings, held a press conference today (August 29th) to give an update on the county’s preparations and expectations for Hurricane Idalia.
As Hurricane Idalia nears Florida, Disney World has made a few statements about how the parks and hotels are responding.
Current projections for Hurricane Idalia
Disney has updated change and cancelation fees for its hotels, and they’ve also announced discounts for guests who need to extend their stay if they cannot travel due to the weather. Now, Disney has announced another change they are making in response to the hurricane. [Read more…]
