3 HUGE Changes Just Hit Disney World — Come With Us To Test Them Out!

Okay, everyone stay calm. It’s really happening! The day we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived!

Donald is ready to park hop!

It’s January 9th and that means that a LOT of changes are happening in Disney World today. First, we can enter the parks without making a park pass reservation (at least most of us can). Oh, Happy Day! But all-day park hopping has also returned and we’re going to park hop ALL day. PLUS the Disney Dining Plan has officially returned and we’re ready to give it a good test drive. So hang out with us while we take on all these Disney World changes today.

Over 30 Disney World Restaurants CHANGED This Week

Happy New Year, DFB Readers! It’s a new year with new food and loads of changes coming to Disney World restaurants this year.

2024 Cupcake at Animal Kingdom

The biggest change, though, is probably the return of the Disney Dining Plan (and we’ll be testing it when it comes back on January 9th). But we’ve also got some new restaurants opening this year, including Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs and The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers on Disney’s Boardwalk. Right now, though, we’ve got some menu changes to tell you about at Disney World restaurants.

DON’T FORGET! Disney’s Kali River Rapids Ride Is Closing Tomorrow

Two Disney World rides will close THIS WEEK for LONG refurbishments! Disney occasionally has to shut down rides and attractions in order to update them, and although sometimes those closures only last a few days, this time two rides will be closed for multiple months.

UPDATE: Kali River Rapids Will Be Closed for 2.5 MONTHS in Disney World

We know it’s inconvenient if you’ve booked a Disney World vacation way ahead of time and then you get there to find out your favorite ride is closed.

Sometimes, we do get SOME notice about ride closures in advance, although some rides close temporarily due to technical issues. Refurbishment schedules are also something to consider, and some rides end up having lengthy refurbishments (aka maintenance, touching up, etc.) that could last months.
