Welcome DFB Reader Megan Figuly today with a guest review of Pasta in the Park at Disneyland!
On Friday, Nov. 13 I attended the Pasta in the Park Party for the Avengers Half Marathon weekend. The event was held at Big Thunder Ranch in the Disneyland Park.
Beginning at 7 p.m., guests with pre-purchased tickets were allowed in. The area was tented and had long rows of tables set
up. A DJ played music and asked Avengers trivia questions. In the back were two lines for character meet and greets: in one line was Hawkeye and Black Widow; in the other — Thor and Captain America.

One of our favorite holiday flavors has to be gingerbread! Whether it’s in cookie form, or cake, or gelato, or even a life-size gingerbread display, it’s an obvious and beloved flavor of the season.
And as much as we love making cute little gingerbread people-shaped cookies, it’s always fun to try something new during your holiday baking session. So this year we’re going to make these Gingerbread Beignets.
The beignets are dusted with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar, but the Eggnog Crème Anglaise is a must as a dipping sauce!
This recipe hails from Cafe Orleans at Disneyland, where Gingerbread Beignets were available during the 2014 holiday season.
The recipe calls for chilling the dough at least 4 hours or overnight, so plan your baking day accordingly!

2016 is nearly upon us
, and so we find ourselves looking back at all that 2015 had to offer. It’s been an exciting time, full of huge announcements about new venues and attractions and lots of progress on previously announced projects. Before we bid goodbye to one year and welcome a new one, let’s review where we’ve been and see a glimpse of what’s to come!
There was a HUGE disturbance in the Force — the Disney Force, that is — this summer when Disney announced that Star Wars Land would be coming to both Disneyland AND Walt Disney World. The crowds went wild! [Read more…]
Lately I’ve been a big fan of Disney Marshmallow Wands. Fresh marshmallows dipped in gooey caramel, covered with chocolate then topped with various items: YUM!
In the past we’ve seen lots of fun marshmallow wands. Everything from traditional sprinkles, to Reese’s Pieces, s’mores, character themed, and more. The Candy Cane Marshmallow Wand is currently here for the season, and it’s wonderful! I recently picked one up to enjoy at home and boy, am I glad I did.
The marshmallow is dipped in caramel then dark chocolate….
When I first heard about the new Disneyland Resort Premium Experiences, I thought, “Hmmmm… These could be very interesting and VERY fun!” So far there have been two offerings, The Mystical Spirits of the Blue Bayou Dinner and The Jungle Cruise Sunrise Safari Breakfast.
My friend and I recently treated ourselves to the Jungle Cruise Sunrise Safari Breakfast and it was an amazing experience. My visit took place during the Disney Holidays Season, so the Jungle Cruise was transformed into the Jingle Cruise. Hence, my festive outfit, which you’ll see later.
Looking for a fun snack with some holiday cheer? Head on over to the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square for some Candy Cane Beignets!
Beignets are always a good decision, and Candy Cane flavored ones are an excellent decision.

Let’s head back to one of our favorite ice cream spots in Disney California Adventure: Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream!
Named after Clarabelle Cow (you can learn a little more on the backstory of her name — and subsequently the shop’s name — here), this cute little spot is located on Buena Vista Street in DCA. [Read more…]

We’re back at Disneyland visiting yet another Counter Service gem, the French Market!
I say “yet another” because Disneyland truly has some standout offerings when it comes to Counter Service. Therefore, narrowing down your options can be a difficult process. Today we’re exploring the reasons why the French Market is definitely worth more than a quick glance…
