It joins the first food truck, Superstar Catering (check out our review here!), in what will ultimately become a group of four trucks total in coming weeks.

I know AJ’s been looking forward to this one because we were told it would have Butter Chicken — her favorite! Let’s take a look!

Namaste Cafe features “Tasty Explorations from Disney’s Animal Kingdom,”

but before I placed my order, I just had to take some time to admire the artwork on this eye-catching truck.

I love how it so beautifully echoes the imagineering you see in Animal Kingdom, particularly in the Asia area. Just take a look…

Holiday News! Tables in Wonderland Offers Complimentary Valet Parking at Downtown Disney

For the holiday season, Tables in Wonderland — Disney World’s popular dining discount program — is offering members complimentary valet parking at Downtown Disney!

Tables in Wonderland, Walt Disney World’s fee-based dining discount program offered to Florida residents, Annual Passholders, and Disney Vacation Club members, is a great way to save money if you are a frequent diner at Walt Disney World.

And now through January 1, 2014, Tables in Wonderland Members can valet park (one vehicle per membership card) at Downtown Disney for FREE when dining at a participating restaurant.

This is AWESOME — and you know it is if  you’ve ever tried to park at Downtown Disney during the SUPA busy holiday season shopping rush.

Valet parking is available daily from 4PM – 2AM. Black-out dates apply. See tablesinwonderland.com for all program policies.

News! Chef Kevin Dundon from Downtown Disney’s Raglan Road Stars In New Cooking Show

Raglan Road fans will want to tune in to the new PBS Cooking Show, Modern Irish Food, starring Celebrity Chef Kevin Dundon!

Yup! This Disney Chef has his own TV show! Awesome! Who says Disney World is just burgers and ice cream?

In case you haven’t been there, dining at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant in Downtown Disney Orlando is a consistently yummo experience. On the menu — contemporary Irish dishes such as Dalkey Duo Sausages, Bangers and Booz with Guinness Stew and Mashed potatoes, and Keen Eye for Shepherd’s Pie! Plus the best soups in the whole wide world.

AND — Kevin Dundon was my very first interview waaaaay back when I started DFB in 2009. He was so kind and generous with his time; a true blue kind of guy. So let’s support his superstardom and tune in!

Raglan Road in Downtown Disney

Kevin Dundon’s Modern Irish Food Show will air in Central Florida and on PBS stations across the United States. It’s been picked up by Create TV (part of the PBS family) for February 2014. Episodes will air at 2PM Saturdays on WUCF-TV in Central Florida through December 21, 2013.

With award-winning chef Kevin Dundon at the helm, this new television series will focus on Irish cuisine made with local herbs and veggies. Just like at Raglan Road, Dundon gives viewers a modern look at traditional Irish dishes.

Based on his new cookbook, Kevin Dundon’s Modern Irish Food, the series will culminate with a “Christmas Made Easy” segment.

The show was filmed at Dundon’s four-star Dunbrody Country House Hotel & Restaurant, Cookery School and Spa, in Ireland. Check your local listings as episodes began airing October 26 in the Orlando area.

Nov. 16 – Fish, Hunt and Harvest: Kevin prepares smoked mackerel with a black currant Jus. Also: Skeaghanore duck breast with black cherries, pickled wild mushrooms, sautéed garlic potatoes and to finish, a spiced apple with Killowen yogurt.

Nov. 23 – Birds, Bass and Berries: Kevin creates a woodpigeon salad; whole roasted sea bass in a sea salt crust; crushed baby potatoes; and a sea vegetable salad. Finally, a fresh and tasty elderflower and gooseberry layered “fool” dessert.

News and Review! Holiday Menu Items at Earl of Sandwich

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… I love being on the Earl of Sandwich email list. Not only do you get a free sandwich for your birthday month (which I just redeemed!) but you also get emails letting you know about seasonal specials.

When this one recently arrived, I got pretty excited!

Holiday eats have descended upon Earl of Sandwiches across the country, and I headed into our local Disneyland store to check ’em out! Note that these are also available at the Walt Disney World Earl of Sandwich!

We all know that the Holiday Turkey Sandwich is here to stay as it became a permanent menu item last year. And even though it’s always there, I still get super excited whenever I get a chance to have one.

Piled high with turkey, stuffing, gravy & cranberry sauce, this sandwich is comfort food at its best.  A hand held Thanksgiving meal, the Holiday Turkey Sandwich is toasted to perfection and really can not be beat.

Holiday Ham Sandwich

New to the holiday sandwich family this year is the Holiday Ham Sandwich.

With heaps of ham, fresh pineapple rings & a holiday apple glaze type sauce, this sandwich is sure to be a huge hit.  Served warm and toasted just like all of its Earl relatives, the flavors in this new sandwich really pop.

In my opinion, you can’t really go wrong with a pineapple/ham partnership.

News! and Review: Downtown Disney’s Superstar Catering Food Truck

Downtown Disney (the shopping, entertainment, and restaurant district) at Walt Disney World recently welcomed the Superstar Catering Food Truck to the lineup of eateries!

And so it begins… the first official food truck has arrived in Downtown Disney!

If you’ve been keeping an eye on Disney Food Blog, then you’re aware that new food trucks have been preparing to park themselves near Cirque de Soleil and House of Blues in Downtown Disney’s West Side.

To be precise, four new themed food trucks will be joining the lineup: Enchanted Fare Food Truck (featuring treats from Disney Parks around the globe), The World Showcase of Flavors Food Truck (bringing a few Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival favorites to guests all year-round), Namaste Café Food Truck (Sanaa fans, start your engines!), and Superstar Catering Food Truck… which has made it’s starring debut!

Superstar Catering brings a touch of Hollywood Studios to Downtown Disney. It’s easy to recognize how the sleek-yet-playful decorative elements and colors of the truck echo those of the park. Specifically, it brings to mind images of the retro-styling of 50’s Prime Time Café.

News! Food Trucks Arrive Disney World’s Downtown Disney in Early November

As we announced earlier, Downtown Disney Orlando will soon debut mobile eateries as the popular Walt Disney World district joins the Food Truck craze!

But now we have a DATE RANGE (yes, this is how it works) to look forward to! In early November, Disney will welcome four new food trucks to Downtown Disney’s West Side (near Cirque de Soleil and House of Blues).

Let’s get to the food…

Superstar Catering truck

“Favorite of the Stars of Disney’s Hollywood Studios,” this truck will feature hearty meatball variations: a spinach and feta beef meatball sandwich; turkey sausage and golden raisin meatballs on polenta; and a lamb meatball flatbread with tzatziki. For the kids (or kids at heart!) — meatball sliders!

With a stainless steel exterior accented in teal, tan and orange, this truck will be reminiscent of a 1930s Art Deco diner.

Spotted! NEW Candy Boxes at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts

They’re baaaaaack! And they’re even better!

We first told you about the clever candy boxes a while back, but on a recent trip to Walt Disney World, I came across some new additions to the collection. This time they’re ALL CHOCOLATE. No gummies or lemon drops to be found.

I mean, I love Coconut Patties and Chocolate Covered Pretzels as much as the next girl, but these are some truly fun souvenirs.

DIY Disney Recipe: Elderflower Cocktail

If you spend any time checking out the menus of Disney restaurants, you’ll notice that St. Germain Liqueur is popping up a lot these days!

And with good reason! St. Germain is a French liqueur that’s made from elderflowers. The delicate, sweet taste is very unique and seems to be taking Disney World by storm.

We’ve recently had Elderflower Cocktails at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival (where it’s made with elderflower syrup) as well as for brunch at Raglan Road.

With flavors that remind me of grapefruit and honey, this liqueur makes for a lovely warm weather cocktail. So for a recent family gathering, we decided to give it a try!

The taco truck is a fun alternative for fast food while hanging out in Downtown Disney.

Throughout October, eight Downtown Disney restaurants will feature 3-course dinners at bargain prices at the NEW Downtown Disney Foodtopia event!

Paradiso 37: Choose from blackened mahi sliders, a hearty beef burrito, or chicken enchiladas paired with a starter and dessert.
