It’s nearly 2024, and that means all our 2024 Disney trips are about to be that much closer.
If you haven’t planned your trip yet, don’t panic! There’s still plenty of time to do so, and some people who live close by love to plan trips that are only a few weeks away. But before you plan your trip, there are a few big decisions you need to make.
If you’re planning a 2024 Disney World vacation, this HUGE Disney news might affect you!
Some of our all-time favorite events in Disney World are the EPCOT festivals. There are four different festivals throughout the year, and now Disney has announced the opening DATE for the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival!
EPCOT has had a BIG week!
On December 5th, an all-new land opened in EPCOT, allowing visitors access to the World Celebration Gardens. Not only that, but a new Walt Disney statue debuted, Luminous: Symphony of Us lit up the skies for the first time, AND we got to check out the return of the glowing sidewalks! Only one thing was missing… the new festival area! CommuniCore Hall and Plaza were meant to debut in late 2023, but we found out in early December that the new festival areas would not be available until 2024. While we were disappointed, we were holding on to hope that it would be complete in EARLY 2024 — based on the visual state of the construction. Let’s check it out!
Okay, so your Disney World trip is booked, your travel is sorted out, you’ve got your park pass reservations, and you’ve made your advance dining reservations. You’re done with all the planning, right?
Well, no! That’s because things can change quickly in Disney World, especially when it comes to park hours. Yes, the park hours change OFTEN. We recently noticed some changes, too, that we need to tell you about, including an early closure at one park.
It’s no surprise that merchandise we’ve spotted in Disney World often goes viral.
Remember those giant light-up Mickey pumpkins? Those were EVERYWHERE online — and sold out fast. Those Olaf Hot Chocolate Bombs have also been wildly popular. Don’t EVEN get us started on that Figment Popcorn Bucket that EVERYONE wanted in 2022. Well, we just spotted some more viral merchandise in Disney World, and although it’s not Disney-specific per se, this could be your best chance at getting your hands on some of the items!
Okay, do you consider Genie+ a MUST in Disney World these days?
So many of us do because, let’s face it — we hate waiting in long lines, and Genie+ lets us use those shorter Lightning Lanes at many rides. However, Genie+ can get SUPER pricey sometimes, especially on busier days in Disney World (that surge pricing is NO joke). But on some days, like on December 10th, the price of Genie+ outright shocks us — but for a different reason.
EPCOT is finally approaching the end of its multi-year transformation.
We recently got to see the reveal of Dreamer’s Point and the new nighttime show, Luminous. However, not everyone is happy about these new transformation additions to the park — in fact, they have some pretty big problems with them.
One merchandise stand that’s been closed for three years FINALLY reopened in EPCOT, but there’s another stand that’s still closed in this park!
Disney has to close restaurants, attractions, snack stands, and other locations occasionally in order to complete refurbishments and update the spaces. For some of these smaller stands, it’s possible that there simply aren’t enough Cast Members to keep them all open. Whatever the resason, this EPCOT snack stand is closed with no reopening date in sight!
It’s almost that time! We’re talking about the EPCOT Festival of the Arts. It’s almost here! Y’all, we seriously LOVE this festival SO much!
The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts runs from January 12th through February 19th and showcases all sorts of artistic endeavors, from performing arts to food art and more! We’ve already got a sneak peek of the confirmed food booths, the full lineup of the Disney on Broadway concert series, details on dining packages, and everything that’s been confirmed for the festival. Well, now we want to help you navigate the festival like a pro with a FREE DFB EPCOT Festival of the Arts map.
