That’s right, it may only be mid-October but Disney World is already looking toward the holiday season! Let’s go over the most unexpected news of the week.
We love getting to go to Disney World every day, and we love spotting new merchandise when it becomes available.
All dressed up for the 50th Anniversary!
So you can imagine our excitement when the 50th Anniversary Mickey Mouse Popcorn Bucket turned up today, just about two weeks after the official start of the celebrations! And Mickey was VERY happy to be out and about at the theme parks — so much that he decided to take a tour around the resort!

There are roller coasters, motion simulators, drop rides, and even trackless vehicle rides. But we’re here to talk about another popular kind of Disney attraction: boat rides! Happy Anniversary, Minnie!
We found the newest 50th Anniversary popcorn bucket during a 🍿pop🍿 into the Magic Kingdom, and then we also saw it in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We found his Minnie back on the 50th anniversary in sipper cup form but this Mickey wasn’t ready for the big day. Now he’s finally arrived! Okay, enough suspense building. Time for the big reveal!

Construction can pop up anywhere!
While many of Disney’s big projects wrapped up just in time for the 50th Anniversary celebrations, construction scrims can still be found in a few select locations. With the 50th Anniversary in full swing, the Halloween festivities, and the holidays just around the corner, there’s a LOT going on at Disney World right now!

With so many big things going on, it can be hard to see all the small stuff happening at the parks, but that’s why we’re here! Recently, we noticed some slight changes to the Disney World park hours for select dates in October and November.
Disney World has a few different collections of souvenirs for their 50th Anniversary.
LOTS of merchandise!
They can be found at various locations around the parks, but in the Magic Kingdom you’ll find the Celebration and Castle collections over in the Emporium gift shop. The Vault Collection — which has all kinds of vintage items — is at the Main Street Cinema on Main Street, U.S.A. Two more vintage souvenirs just made their way into the Magic Kingdom, and if you love all things old-school Disney, you’ll definitely want to check them out.

Zoomed Out Super Zoom Shot
Disney PhotoPass also takes special “Magic Shots” that usually add in a character or prop for a special photo. There are 50th anniversary Magic Shots, Tiny World Magic Shots, and even Super Zoom shots that let you get a Birdseye view of a Disney Park. There’s a new one in Magic Kingdom so let’s check it out!
