This week we had a chance to swing by two of our favorite Value Resorts — Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Art of Animation Resort. Both resorts received some menu updates in their food courts, but first let’s check in on the progress of that Skyliner Station!

The new Skyliner System will connect these two resorts, as well as Caribbean Beach Resort and the new Riviera Resort, to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Disney World’s newest transportation option, the Disney Skyliner System, has been testing gondolas on the lines over the past couple of weeks. Now, it looks like they are testing the system at full capacity and speed near the Hollywood Studios Skyliner Station.

Those are actual gondolas, not the test gondolas we first saw at the beginning of the month. We can even see some of the artwork on the gondolas through the tarps.

pastry chefs are always conceptualizing new cupcakes to wow their guests, and the Disney Parks Blog shared two brand new princess-inspired cupcakes that we just had to show you.
In Landscape of Flavors at the Art of Animation Resort, guests can now pick up the Mermaid Tail Cupcake. This is a vanilla cupcake filled with pineapple compote and topped with a swirl of coconut buttercream. Garnishes include a glitter-dusted white chocolate mermaid tail (a la Ariel, of course!), crispy pearls, and graham cracker crumbs.

When visiting Disneyland or Walt Disney World theme parks, you will notice see park-specific shopping bags for sale such as the ones in Disneyland Resort merchandise locations or those in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

Walt Disney World Resort hotels now have their own reusable shopping bags available for purchase, too. While each park at this time has its own design, the Disney World Resort hotels are currently selling Walt Disney World bags (with all four parks represented in the design) as opposed to specific hotel designs. It’s always true that you should “look up” when you’re in Disney World so you’re sure to catch various details and design throughout the Resort within the parks, their attractions, and Resorts. But now “look up” is especially good advice, because you may just catch one of the gondolas from the Disney Skyliner now in testing!

Purple Potion Ears
We’ve been spotting purple cupcakes and gelato shakes in the latest Disney Minnie Mouse Ears hue of Potion Purple (also called Purple Potion), and we had a feeling there were more on the way… and starting today in Walt Disney World — unless otherwise noted — and January 11th in Disneyland, that is indeed the case! (And note that Potion Purple Spirit Jerseys will be hitting the scene on January 11th as well.)
