Effective for reservations made starting March 21, 2018, registered guests at Disney World Resort hotels will be charged a nightly fee for self-parking.

You read that right… FIFTEEN!! A few of these locations opened in late 2017, such as BaseLine Tap House in Hollywood Studios and the Ale & Compass Restaurant, so you can enjoy them right now. But many are still to come, like Jaleo, Terralina Crafted Italian, and the VERY soon-to-open Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar. Back in July at the D23 conference, Disney World’s newest form of transportation was announced: the Skyliner, a gondola connecting Epcot and Hollywood Studios with several Disney resorts. Since then, we’ve been daydreaming about flying between resorts and parks, taking in the views from above. As you may know, Caribbean Beach Resort is undergoing a refurbishment that is affecting the entire Resort, from dining options to the guest check-in area and far beyond.

Disney is now releasing concept art for what the results of this renovation will yield, and we are excited to finally be learning more about the refreshed dining options — and more! — coming to Caribbean Beach Resort!
But here’s the weird part…all of this “news” seems verrrrry familiar… . Read on.
You remember Shutters, right? The Table Service restaurant at Caribbean Beach Resort? No? Well, perhaps that’s because it hasn’t provided the most memorable of Resort dining options over the years. However, it sounds like that may change once the Caribbean-inspired Shutters reopens on the waterfront of Old Port Royale.
Dining options at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort have been very limited since this spring when the Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters, and the Banana Cabana Pool Bar closed as part of the huge renovation project happening at the resort.

In addition to the three Island Markets (aka repurposed hotel rooms), where guests can find grab-and-go items and purchase refillable mugs, breakfast and dinner are available in a temporary tent located near Centertown, and a food truck is also on site.
But there’s some good news to report! According to wdwnt.com, a new quick service location is set to open in early 2018 at the resort! [Read more…]

Contruction is Underway at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
While the resort undergoes what is from all accounts going to be a gigantic, transformative makeover, dining options are obviously going to be impacted. In fact, Caribbean Beach Resort’s only bar, Banana Cabana, and its only sit-down restaurant, Shutters, are closing to make way for the overhaul.
