Disney World hotels are getting in the holiday spirit.
The Grand Floridian Christmas tree is here!
The gingerbread houses have gone up, the snacks have arrived, and the giant Christmas trees are adorning the lobbies. But so much more is going on at the hotels, so we’re going to get you all caught up on the updates!
As we do every day, we’ve been walking around Disney World’s Parks and several resorts today, and we found a BIG crowd — but it’s not necessarily where you would expect!
Crowds in Disney World
While the wait times for Space Mountain and Splash Mountain are a pretty average 45 minutes at midday, we just discovered that the parking lot at a Disney World Resort has been closed because of the crowds inside!
Right now might be the ideal time to visit Disney World! We saw some pretty big crowds in the parks around Thanksgiving time, and Genie+ price increases reflected the higher demand. But Genie+ has been around $15 to $17 per person lately (not $29 like we saw over the holiday weekend!), wait times at popular rides are lower, and crowds, in general, have been very light. It seems like early December is a great time to get all the holiday cheer in the parks without all the hassle of big crowds.

We’ve been enjoying the holiday decorations at the hotels, as well as the gingerbread displays, and holiday snacks! While we’ve been visiting the hotels, though, we’ve also checked to see what else is new. So on with the updates!
Disney World was BUSY this past week as crowds flocked to the parks for Thanksgiving break. We saw big crowds and long wait times, but the rush may slow down this coming week as folks return to school and work.
