Sometimes, nothing but a nice cuppa will do.
And even when you’re on vacation (which is, of course, supposed to be all about relaxing), an escape into a soothing cup of tea can be a welcome change of pace.
And that’s true regardless of weather, don’t you think? After all, serious tea drinkers don’t mind raising a cup, even in Florida heat and humidity. 🙂
Are you looking to try something new or to celebrate the ritual of something familiar and comforting? Either way, we have suggestions for finding a really good cup of tea throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.
Come with us as we share some of our favorites.
Just like coffee, tea is finding a larger and more sophisticated fan base everyday. But whether you’re a lifelong lover of tea, or you’re just learning your way around it, Joffrey’s Tea Traders Cafe at Disney Springs is a welcome stop on your list of places to explore this storied beverage. We welcome back guest writer AM Appleby! Today, she’ll take us inside of Narcoossee’s for their once a week morning offering — Sunday Brunch!
We’ve enjoyed dinner at Narcoossee’s, located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, many times, and always love booking a reservation coincident with the Wishes fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.
But recently, this dinner-only spot has begun to offer a leisurely and luxurious Sunday Brunch. We couldn’t wait to take a peek!
On a glorious and sunny Sunday morning, my daughter and I went to Narcoossee’s Waterfront Brunch at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
I’ve enjoyed dinner twice at this location and was excited to try brunch. We arrived at the Grand Floridian twenty minutes before our reservation time and walked through the magnificent lobby and out the back doors to the restaurant. [Read more…]

If you’re a fan of Victoria and Albert’s then you might be super excited about this news — or totally bummed, maybe. 😉
Scott Hunnel, chef de cuisine at Victoria and Albert’s, has been promoted to Executive Chef at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
The move means that Chef Hunnel will oversee all of The Grand’s restaurants, which include Citricos, Narcoossee’s, and the Grand Floridian Cafe. [Read more…]
It’s time once again to celebrate a GRAND tradition… the Fifth Annual Easter Egg Display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort!
And it’s become something of a tradition for us here at the DFB to share them with you in case your spring break plans don’t include a visit to Disney World this year. (If they DO, you’ll want to note that the Eggs are on display through April 4th.) [Read more…]

It’s been way way WAY too long since I last took in a meal at Narcoossee’s, one of the signature restaurants at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. (With three signature restaurants at that resort, it’s hard to get to all of them on a regular basis! So much rich, wonderful food — SO expensive!)
The restaurant has topped our list of Disney Food News for a couple of brand new offerings lately. You can now enjoy Sunday Waterfront Brunch here. And soon, you’ll be able to take in an evening Wishes Dessert Party from the dock nearby.
But during a recent (extremely quick!) visit to Walt Disney World, I decided it was time to enjoy dinner here once again.
The fairly small restaurant, perched on the edge of the resort where water meets land, boasts stunning views, a relaxed atmosphere, and a seafood-inspired menu. But it tends to be overshadowed by other signature spots, like the nearby California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, or Victoria and Albert’s at the Grand Floridian. And so it largely flies under the radar.
My question is always this: in a resort that has two other signature restaurants, is there room for a third?
Read on to learn more about our evening here.
If you’re heading to Narcoossee’s, be prepared for a walk. This is that circular building on stilts that juts out into Seven Seas Lagoon next to the dock at Grand Floridian, so it’s far far away from the entrance to the resort (but a quick walk from the boat dock if you’re coming from Magic Kingdom). A new viewing opportunity to enjoy Magic Kingdom’s Wishes nighttime fireworks spectacular is making its debut at the Grand Floridian’s Narcoossee’s.
Current view-and-dine parties for Wishes include the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland Terrace, and Ferrytale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise. Narcoossee’s is joining the line up by hosting a new Wishes Dessert Party at the Grand Floridian back dock (so during party time, Advance Dining Reservations for Narcoossee’s standard dinner hours of 5:30 to 10:00 pm remain available).
Taking place every Friday — currently available through the month of March — the all-inclusive price of $62.43 per person will include a variety of signature desserts and a selection of wine and cocktails, along with beer, coffee, or tea. The party will begin 30 minutes prior to the evening’s showing of Wishes.
Interested guests may learn more and reserve this experience by dialing (407) 824-1400 (please note that booking via the Walt Disney World website is not available). [Read more…]
Today we are sharing a pictorial review of the new Victoria and Albert’s Ten Course Tasting Experience from guest photographer, Tom Welsh. Thanks, Tom!Let’s take a closer look at a Chef’s Ten Course Tasting experience at Victoria and Albert’s. This award-winning restaurant at Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort exudes elegance and is helmed by James Beard Award-nominee (again in 2016!) Chef Scott Hunnel.
We took the monorail over to the Grand Floridian Resort for our dinner at Victoria and Albert’s. Viviana and Sharon greeted us at the door with hugs for all. Sharon introduced her associate for the evening, Anita. We also met Elizabeth, the harpist. We selected the Chef’s Ten Course Tasting Menu with the recommended wine pairings. First came a lovely fruit punch with a little vodka.
The Amuse-Bouche was a Cauliflower Panna Cotta with Siberian Caviar and Tattinger Brut “La Francaise.”
The nine courses that followed were: (2) Roulade of Smoked Salmon and Alaskan King Crab with Chateau Rahoul Blanc, Graves 2011.
(3) Alaskan Sablefish with Baby Bok Choy and Lieu Dit Chenin Blanc, Santa Ynez Valley 2013.
(4) Scottish Langoustine with Nage Crema and Hanzell “Sebella” Chardonnay, Sonoma 2013.
(5) Truffled Bell & Evans Chicken with Hedgehogs (mushrooms) and Copain “Les Voisins” Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley 2011.
(6) Berkshire “Porchetta”, Sherry Vinaigrette and Arboldea Carmenere, Colchagua Valley 2009.
(7) Australian Kobe-Style Beef with Comte Potato Gnocchi and Chateau Rauzan-Segla “Segla,” Margaux 2008.
(8) Selection of Cheese from the Trolley with Quinta Do Crasto Late Bottled Vintage Port 2010.
(9) Green Apple Mousse with Sour Cream Ice Cream.
(10) Peruvian Chocolate Crunch.
We each had a pot: coffee for Lyd and tea for me.
Thanks for sharing your meal with us, Tom!

We’re heading back to one of Disney’s best kept signature dining secrets — Citricos!
The fancy-schmancy restaurant is located at the lush and luxurious Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, which is home to no less than three Disney Signature Restaurants. (Victoria and Albert’s and Narcoossee’s round out the list.) Narcoossee’s has the great fireworks view, and V&A’s is the best restaurant in central Florida, so you might be wondering what could possibly set Citricos apart and make it worth your time and money?
Well, let’s take a look, and maybe I can help you to answer that question.
You’ll find Citricos on the second floor of the Grand Floridian, off of the main atrium and tucked behind Victoria and Albert’s. It’s at the back of the hotel, and as a result, offers really lovely views of the resort’s grounds.
As you enter, you’ll walk through Citricos Lounge, where you can enjoy a cocktail and a menu of small plates, even without an advance dining reservation. [Read more…]
