As the prices are reasonable, it’s also a budget-friendly place to grab a light dinner after a day in the parks. Evergreens serves sandwiches, wraps and burgers as well as salads, pizzas and snacks. The salads, wraps and sandwiches are quite good but the 8″ pizzas need improvement. (If you are in the mood for pizza I definitely would [Read more…]
Dining in Disneyland: Tortilla Jo’s Taqueria in Downtown Disney
Dining in Disneyland columnist Heather Sievers spices things up at Tortilla Jo’s Taqueria in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney district!
When you’re in the mood for Mexican and don’t have the time or budget for a full sit down restaurant meal, the small Taqueria outside of Tortilla Jo’s is the perfect dining solution. My family and I LOVE Tortilla Jo’s, however, a meal inside the “regular” restaurant takes a minimum of one hour (worth it if you have the time) and that’s with a reservation or without a wait.
The colorful Taqueria can not be missed as you are walking through Downtown Disney. It is located directly across from Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, closer to the hotels than the parks. Their outdoor-only seating consists of [Read more…]
St. Patrick’s Day Events and Menus in Disney World and Disneyland
We certainly don’t need a reason to celebrate (with beer!) while visiting a Disney park, however we’re really excited about the extra Irish-inspired fun that Disney is dishing up for St. Patrick’s Day. Below, we detail events and special menu items throughout Disney World and Disneyland!
Raglan Road, WDW Downtown Disney
Raglan Road opens their doors at 11:00AM on St. Paddy’s Day for a full day of festivities! The fun begins at Noon with musicians, dancers and face painting. While savoring the traditional Shepherd’s Pie, look for the house band, Creel! In the evening, toast your Irish friends and watch eLevation as they perform your favorite U2 songs. There is a $10 cover charge.
Earlier in the week, Raglan Road is celebrating with a few more events! This Sunday, attend their first ever traditional Irish Ceili (pronounced kay-lee) and join in the Irish dancing! As Lorraine from Raglan Road says, “We’re pushing the furniture back and letting everyone join in!” Sounds like fun! Click the image for [Read more…]
Disney Food Post Round-Up: February 27, 2011
It’s been a great week for foodies! The addition of new counter-service restaurants to the Disney Dining Plan was welcome news. And we’re already green with envy about the culinary events at Raglan Road for St. Paddy’s Day Week!
Also looking forward to the opening of Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam’s at the Disneyland Hotel!
But for now… on to the round-up!

News: Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam’s to Open in Disneyland Hotel
Tangaroa Terrace Restaurant
and Trader Sam’s Bar will open in Spring 2011 as part of the Disneyland Hotel renovation. As the Disneyland Hotel keeps its nostalgic atmosphere, the new restaurant is a tribute to the Tahitian Terrace that resided in Adventureland from 1962-1993.
Interestingly, Disney World’s Polynesian Resort once had a flourishing restaurant called Tangaroa Terrace; and you’ll remember Trader Sam as the name of the Jungle Cruise’s “head salesman.”
Named after one of the tiki gods from the Enchanted Tiki Room, Tangaroa Terrace will [Read more…]
Dining in Disneyland: Celebrating Mardi Gras and Family Fun Weekends at The French Market
Celebrate Mardi Gras and Family Fun Weekends at French Market in Disneyland! Heather Sievers, our Dining in Disneyland columnist, has more!
With Disneyland’s Family Fun Weekends in full swing, it’s time for a Mardi Gras celebration. Surprisingly, after years and years of being an annual passholder, I had never once been to The French Market. When I eat in that area it’s usually for a Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans. Because of the special Mardi Gras menu, I decided to branch out and try [Read more…]
Guest Review: Disney World’s Top of the World Lounge
Thanks to Christopher Ripley of The English Disney Blog for putting together this great review of the new Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower in Walt Disney World!
Top of the World Lounge is located aptly on top of the recent Disney Vacation Club (DVC) addition of the Bay Lake Tower resort. The tower and the lounge were both opened on August 4th, 2009. The lounge opens at 5pm daily for the exclusive use of DVC members staying at the tower using their DVC points. Apart from members staying in the grand villas on the sixteenth floor, all other members must access the lounge via [Read more…]
Review: Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion Margarita Stand
It’s time to pay some homage to the little kiosk that could. The Margarita stand in Epcot’s Mexico pavilion has been churning out frozen drinks for years and years. The location and menu have changed, but the delivery is still the same — a plastic cup filled with a strong, cold, kind of…bad…margarita.
OK, now before you start to argue, let’s look at the facts: since La Cava del Tequila moved in next store, the difference between the fiesta margarita from the Epcot kiosk and an aguacate, pineapple, or even jalapeno margarita from La Cava is pretty stark, right? The flavors and depth of the drinks from La Cava just [Read more…]

Disney Dream Review: Evolution Dance Club
Usually I’m not big into clubbing, but things are a bit different over on the Disney Dream…
Atmosphere
I absolutely loved Evolution on Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship. While this probably had a lot to do with the company I was keeping — some of my favorite people were at the club with me — it also had a lot to do with the alternately relaxed and invigorating [Read more…]
