News: The Walt Disney Company Will Halt Select Political Contributions Following Events at Capitol

When you think of Disney, you may only think about their movies, merchandise, and theme parks. But, Disney and some of its current or former leaders can be very much involved in the community and political matters as well.

In 2020, we saw Executive Chairman Bob Iger serve for a period of time on California’s Business Recovery Task Force, although he ultimately chose to leave it. Disney also donated millions to social justice nonprofit organizations last year.

In light of last week’s events at the Capitol, the Walt Disney Company has again decided to take action. The company has confirmed it will not make any political contributions to lawmakers who voted to reject the certification of electoral votes for Joe Biden.

Tokyo Disney Resort Will Resume Ticket Sales Tomorrow

Due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, there have recently been a LOT of things canceled, postponed, or temporarily closed at Tokyo Disney Resort.

After reopening in July, the park slowly brought back offerings like fireworks and even opened some new attractions, but now the resort has had to backtrack, canceling events, temporarily suspending fireworks, and closing several restaurants for the time being. They also reduced park hours, placed a ban on non-resident visitors, and halted ticket sales. Now, ticket sales are being offered once again.

And outside of Disney World, other popular travel destinations and airports are putting their own precautions in place to protect travelers. Now, there’s a good chance that COVID tests will be required for those traveling to the United States.

NEWS: Disney Cruise Line Cancels Sailings Through March 2021

Early last year, Disney Cruise Line began suspending some of its sailings due to the global pandemic.

Disney officials did note that the cruise line would be the last of Disney’s businesses to return. Most recently, Disney Cruise Line canceled sailings through February of 2021, but we also saw that they had removed March sailings from their website. Now, Disney Cruise Line has extended the cancelation of their sailings through more of 2021.
