Gingerbread Displays At Disney World 2010, Part 2

As you know, Disney World showcases some truly edible artistry when it comes to their amazing gingerbread displays during the holidays! So far this year, we’ve gone on a photo tour of the Grand Floridian’s Gingerbread House and the gingerbread displays in Disney’s Boardwalk, Beach Club, and Contemporary resorts.

Gingerbread is elevated to an art form in Disney World during the holiday season — literally. While tasty treats do exist for purchase in Disney World bakeries…

…the real draw is to the incredible displays throughout the theme parks and deluxe resorts! I’m excited to share with you this holiday season the amazing edible holiday artwork that has been built in the parks and resorts by many talented Disney Chefs and Cast Members. You saw a little peek of this last week in our showcase of the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House!

Italian Food Stand Opens 12/20 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Apparently the Charcuterie and Cheese booth from the 2010 Epcot Food and Wine Festival has been given a new lease on life! It has now become the “Ristorante Italiano” food kiosk, located in the Disney Hollywood Studios backlot!

Serving food made at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, the kiosk is set to handle overflow crowds expected at DHS during these busy holiday weeks. That said, according to Matt at Studios Central, it might stick around after January 1st if business is booming.

The menu includes Italian favorites, but you’ll have to head over to Studios Central to get the scoop!

La Hacienda de San Angel: Enjoy a six-course menu accompanied by live music. Menu includes a margarita, ceviche, Chiles Toreados y Chorizitos, Sope de Chilorio, and cheese empanada with green sauce. Meat and Seafood platters and dessert — a sweet guava tamal — will be included. The new year will be marked by champagne and a Spanish tradition — eating 12 grapes that are said to predict how your upcoming year will play out.

Kouzzina by Cat Cora Unveils Chef’s Table

This just in from WDW News!

As you know, Kouzzina by Cat Cora on Disney World’s Boardwalk has been closed for a few weeks for refurbishment. Everyone wondered why a restaurant that’s only been open for a year needed refurb, but, here’s a bit of a peek into the mystery!

The restaurant has re-emerged with even more to offer —

New exterior signage
New “Cat Cora Presence” in the lobby via video monitors that showcase Cat’s views on food and family
Cat’s product line is now available for sale in the lobby
And “olive oil tasting experience” is now highlighted in the main dining room — with the bread at the meal, servers will offer two varieties of Greek olive oils to taste and compare
New artwork, marble finishes, and window treatments have also been added
And… a CHEF’S TABLE! The “Coranation Room” has been added at the back of the room with more upscale decor. A Chef’s Table experience will be offered on weekends (upcoming).
