Last June when Walt Disney World announced updates to the 2018 Disney Dining Plan, many guests were thrilled to discover that beginning this year, all three plans include Specialty and Alcoholic Drinks! This means that diners can order delicious milkshakes, fruity smoothies, and tasty adult beverages without having to pay out of pocket.
FULL Review!! Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant in Disney Springs
Looking for a little hideaway? Then Enzo’s your guy…
Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant is now officially open in Disney World’s Disney Springs, and we have a full review for you today.
Together with Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante and Pizza Ponte, Enzo’s Hideaway is the lounge option (which also offers full table service) within this trio of new Italian restaurants in Disney Springs. Like Maria & Enzo’s, the Hideaway is headed by Chef Theo Schoenegger. But the Tunnel Bar puts forth its own spin on Italian cuisine inspired by apertivo bars in Rome.
When you step inside Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar, you’re entering a speakeasy in what are said to have once been rum-running tunnels with the story also inspired by the true Florida history of rum-running. (Hence, the Prohibition-era cocktails you’ll spot on the menu.)
Between this and Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante, it’s clear that Enzo is one busy guy.
Let’s see what he’s been up to.
Atmosphere
So, who exactly is Enzo? He is Maria’s husband, and together this immigrant couple from Italy ran a bakery in what was formerly the Air Terminal for Disney Springs. When the air terminal closed, they made a name for themselves in the town by opening up Pizza Ponte. [Read more…]
News: Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant Now Open in Disney Springs
It’s time to sneak underground into Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant in Disney Springs!
The final component of the newest trio of Italian eateries in Disney Springs — the other two being the already open Pizza Ponte and Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante — is now officially open to guests! We explored the space with our First Look last week. And last night we were there for the official opening!
We’ll be posting our review of Enzo’s VERY soon, with the full scoop on Appetizers…
News: Lunch, Dinner, and Dessert Menus Released for Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant
Food menus are up on the official website for the soon-to-open Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant!
As we mentioned in our First Look at Enzo’s, the “and Restaurant” was added to the name after Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar was originally announced. That’s when we realized the space would be serving full meals in addition to Prohibition era-style cocktails and offerings from the largest selection of “antique” and specialty rums on property.
News: Raglan Road Irish Pub Announces the Departure of Master Chef Kevin Dundon
has been a staple in Disney Springs since it opened in 2005, and from day one, Master Chef Kevin Dundon has been wowing guests with his eclectic Irish menu. So it’s definitely a sad day in Disney food news as we report that the Chef has left the building.
Review: The Dining Room at Paddlefish in Disney Springs
With so many new (and not-so-new, but still greatly loved) dining experiences in Disney Springs, it can be tough to decide where to make your precious Advance Dining Reservations.
So on a recent visit to Disney Springs, I checked out Paddlefish — this time in the dining room (as opposed to the top deck bar) to get an overview of some of the menu’s most popular items. And while most of it was good, some of it was great (and one item — spoiler alert! — was just bad).
Paddlefish is a brand new restaurant in an old, established building. You’ll recall that Fulton’s Crab House used to reside here, in the docked, multi-storied Empress Lily on Lake Buena Vista; and actually this spot has been a restaurant since 1977. When Paddlefish opened, guests were greeted with a combination of old and new. Neutral and trendy gray paint gave the restaurant a streamlined look, but some details of old remained, like brass railings and the fabulous sternwheel.
So what do you say? Shall we paddle in?
Atmosphere
The first floor bar at Paddlefish is a beautiful space, with its curved, recessed ceiling, wall of windows, and various seating arrangements. Definitely a comfortable place to grab a drink or two! [Read more…]
First Look AND Review!! Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante Opening Soon in Disney Springs
We’d like to introduce you to two of our newest friends in Disney Springs: Maria & Enzo!
Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante is the table service component of a trio of brand new Italian eateries in Disney Springs, along with Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar (which will open soon) and the already open Pizza Ponte.
These three restaurants, run by the Patina Restaurant Group, are part of the complete complex of The Edison. Though the three are bound together by location, atmosphere, and story, each presents its own take on Italian cuisine.
We were able to attend a Sneak Peek Media Event, which included a dedication for Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante.
The Ristorante will be open to guests soon (a full opening is anticipated by January 10th, though soft openings may precede). But just after the Media Event, the full menu was open for the evening. So today, we’re excited to bring you both a First Look AND a full review!
First Look! Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant in Disney World
Coming soon, we’ll have a new escape in Disney Springs… Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar & Restaurant!
And we got to check it out at a Media Event which began with a dedication for Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante!
Actually, perhaps I should say we’ll have an old escape once the Hideaway opens…
News: Reservations for The Edison, Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante, and Enzo’s Hideaway in Disney World Now on OpenTable
If you’ve been itching to get into The Edison, then you’ll be glad to know that reservations are now available on OpenTable.com for dates starting January 15th!
