Ever since Disney World announced that the dining plan would be returning for 2024 vacations, we’ve had LOTS of questions about the popular offering. Will it work the same as it used to? Which plans will be returning? And of course…how much will it cost? Today, we’re doing some math and making some educated guesses on that last one.

That’s right, we’re talking about the Disney Dining Plan! You can book the Dining Plan for your Disney World vacation now. The plan hasn’t been available since 2020, so naturally, some things have changed. And one of those changes is important to know if you’re planning on visiting character meals!

And dining changes are a whole different beast altogether. Planning a trip can be overwhelming for someone who hasn’t been there in a while — especially when there are new restaurants that weren’t there on your most recent visit. But, we’ve eaten at every single restaurant in Disney World and are sharing all of the new ones that might have opened since your last trip!

And today, we’re sharing our picks for the restaurants that your kiddo will like…even if they eat nothing but McDonald’s!

Hollywood Studios
You might remember a certain spork situation we experienced in both Disneyland and Disney World when Galaxy’s Edge first opened in each park. At one point, dishes at Docking Bay 7 were served with a futuristic-looking spork — until guests started stealing them and POOF! Gone. And now, we’re afraid, something similar has happened again.
If we’re being brutally honest, there are times when you CANNOT TRUST Disney World.
Spicy sauce
One of those times is when a Disney World menu tells you that the food is “spicy.” We’ve been eating at Disney restaurants for long enough to know that “spicy” can mean something VERY different depending on which place you’re dining at. A spicy chicken sandwich in Magic Kingdom might have absolutely no spice to it at all. But head over to City Works in Disney Springs and take a chance on that hot chicken wrap and you just might be guzzling milk for days. The range is absolutely wild, so we’re here to help you sort out which spicy chicken is really SPICY and which is just…not. Plant Based Sausage
For starters, in October 2019, Disney announced that every major table and counter service restaurant in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort would offer plant-based options! You will find menus with plant-based options that are available throughout Walt Disney World, these items “are made with no animal meat, dairy, eggs or honey. They are made with ingredients that come from plants, including grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and legumes.”
