Wow! What a day! We’ve been busy celebrating Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration! And there’s a great big party going on right now with new character cavalcades, nighttime shows, and food!
Steakhouse 71 Dedication on October 1, 2021
But that’s not the ONLY cause to celebrate because we’re also celebrating the grand opening of Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
We were afraid of what the 50th Anniversary crowds would look like in Disney World today.
Found the crowds!
And we were right to be! EPCOT had its crowded moments, and Magic Kingdom had BIG crowds and even reached capacity at one point today. We arrived in EPCOT tonight, ready to brave those intense Harmonious crowds we saw last time we were here…but something was very different this time around.
It’s finally here! The 50th Anniversary is today! From a new character cavalcade to nighttime entertainment to food to EVERYTHING ELSE, it’s been a busy day at Disney World.

Now, it’s time to see the debut of the Beacons of Magic, the new 50th Anniversary EARidescent makeovers for the park icons!
It’s officially the 50th and we have been drowning in a sea of sparkly blue treats all day.

More than 150 new treats and snacks are coming to Disney World for this celebration, and we’re determined to try them all so that you know the best ones when you come for your vacation! We’re heading to a Disney World resort now to try a new cupcake with a 50th Anniversary theme.
We’ve been celebrating Disney World’s 50th anniversary ALL day, and now the day is almost over.

We tried a ton of new food, saw new souvenirs, and took a look at the crowds for the celebration. But, there are still a few more things to enjoy in the parks before the day is done! It was announced earlier this year that the icons of all 4 parks would be getting a makeover for the 50th and turn into ‘Beacons of Magic.’ So, let’s check out what the park icon of Hollywood Studios looks like tonight!
One of the most special features of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration takes place after the sun goes down. Across all four theme parks, a special nighttime transformation will take place as the park icons become “Beacons of Magic.”

We’ve already seen Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom and Spaceship Earth in EPCOT take on this new nighttime look, and now we’re in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to check out Tree of Life’s transformation!

We’ve seen tons of new merchandise, themed treats, special golden statues — what else does a celebration need? How about a brand new fireworks show over the iconic Cinderella Castle? We’re at the official opening night of Disney World’s new Magic Kingdom nighttime show, Disney Enchantment. And, we’re definitely not the only ones here — check out the crowds that turned out to watch this show’s debut!
