NEWS: Important Update to Disney’s Magical Express to Walt Disney World

Select Walt Disney World hotels began reopening to guests on June 22nd, ahead of the Resort’s theme parks which officially began reopening to guests in July, with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom reopening on July 11th followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopening on July 15th.

Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel still have Disney’s Magical Express available as a complimentary transportation option to and from the Orlando International Airport even during this initial reopening phase. Disney World Tickets and Hotel Reservations for 2020 are Available RIGHT NOW!

Disney World is reopening this week, and that means that some guests are ready to plan their trips to the parks.

During the historic Disney World closure, new ticket sales and hotel reservations were indefinitely suspended so that Disney could accommodate guests with existing reservations. New vacation packages for 2021 opened first and last night, Disney announced that 2020 purchases would be available TODAY. It’s official! 2020 Disney World tickets and hotel reservations are available NOW!

NEWS! Disney World Annual Passholders Now Have More Options For Booking Their Park Pass Reservations

Disney World is mere days away from officially reopening. That means final preparations are underway to be ready to welcome guests back into the parks.

One of the biggest changes has been the introduction of the Park Pass Reservation System, which requires guests to have both a valid ticket AND a reservation for access to one of Disney World’s theme parks. When the Park Pass system went live, a number of Annual Passholders were left in a confusing situation — if they held a hotel reservation, they were only able to book the length of their resort stay and NOT also their three days of passes at a time allotted to them as Passholders. It seems this has changed!

Are Gaiters Banned at Disney World? Here’s What You Need to Know About Disney’s Mask Policy

UPDATE: Disney World has released new guidelines that specifically state that gaiters are not allowed. Click here to read all about the update. 

Even before local health officials mandated face masks in both Orange County, Florida, and Anaheim, California, Disney stated that all Cast Members and guests over the age of two would be required to wear a face covering while inside Disney World’s theme parks, hotel common areas, and Disney Springs.

BREAKING NEWS: Disney World Ticket Sales and Hotel Bookings For 2020 Open TOMORROW!

When Disney World closed its parks, new ticket sales and the ability to make new hotel reservations were suspended.

Disney wanted to make sure they were accommodating guests with existing tickets and hotel reservations (including Annual Passholders) when they reopened the parks and rolled out the Disney Park Pass system. Disney World has already welcomed new vacation package sales for 2021 and now, Disney has shared when they will resume 2020 ticket sales and hotel bookings.

NEWS: Water Taxi Transportation to Magic Kingdom Will Only be Offered at Select Disney World Hotels

With Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom set to reopen to guests on July 11th, followed by Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th, we’re learning more about which transportation options will be available.

Guests staying in Magic Kingdom area hotels typically have access to water taxi transportation to take them between their resort and the park. But upon the initial reopening, only select hotels will have access to the water taxi service.

WOW! We’ve been back inside Magic Kingdom for the first time since it closed its gates in mid-March! The experience was VERY different than what we’re used to when it comes to visiting a Disney World theme park!

Keep in mind that while our first experience back was a Cast Member preview day with very limited crowds, one of if not THE most noticeable differences we experienced was the impact on crowds from the limited capacity. In order to accommodate physical distancing and to keep crowds at bay, Disney has drastically reduced their capacity and controls the number of people in the parks via their new Disney Park Pass Reservation System.
