It’s been nearly four years since Disney World closed down for the global pandemic, and things are still returning to normal in the parks.

For a while, we watched as Disney World hotels and restaurants reopened one by one. Eventually, we got the return of popular entertainment offerings and character meet and greets. But through it all, one restaurant has remained closed, and we get questions about it ALL the time!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is a stunning, classic (expensive) hotel. It’s got a spa, a beautiful pool, views of Magic Kingdom, and some AMAZING dining options. But there’s one restaurant we’ve been missing for a while. In fact, it’s been closed since 2020!

We’ve had our eyes on the Disney website for YEARS, awaiting an update on one Grand Floridian restaurant. And finally — finally! — this dining spot has a reopening date. Mark your calendars, people! This is BIG!

February 7th marked a BIG day for The Walt Disney Company, as fans and shareholders alike tuned in to the first earnings call of 2024. Throughout the call, we got updates on Disney’s financial performance across the parks as well as online streaming platforms. As the Company focuses more on streaming and film, we were able to get some huge updates on some upcoming releases that we’ve been expecting. Let’s talk about it!

Magic Kingdom
Disney has teased potential expansion plans for NEW themed areas “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain” in Magic Kingdom and discussed a DinoLand U.S.A. re-theme in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They’ve also talked about a $1.9 BILLION expansion at Disneyland. But those plans shared with fans have essentially just been “Blue Sky” ideas — a.k.a. nothing that is officially confirmed. But, we’ve seen hints at the expansion projects in the past, and now it seems Disney is dropping some more clues about what’s to come!
This may be Disney’s most ambitious project yet!

One of the most convenient perks of visiting Disney World is having access to the free transportation.Â
EPCOT Monorail
Whether you’re hopping aboard a Disney World bus, stepping on the Skyliner, or grabbing a seat on the Monorail or ferries, Disney’s transportation can take a lot of the brain power and effort out of getting around the resort. However, there are some cons. Relying on Disney World’s transportation creates a risk of being late to reservations, as you have no control over these systems. Buses break down, the Skyliner gets stopped mid-journey, and yes, even the Monorail experiences delays. Plus, these transportation options can be crowded and noisy. This is why a lot of folks prefer to drive around Disney World themselves. And, doing so might have just gotten even easier.

The new addition will be making its debut sometime in 2024 and we’ve been keeping an eye on the latest updates and every bit of news we can get from Disney. But, as we spend more time in the park around the construction site, we can’t help but think that some people seem to be a bit confused. The shopping and dining area of Disney World is a popular place to hang out and visit on days when you don’t have a park ticket or if you’re simply looking to have fun outside of the parks.
