food IS a theme park
We’re not foolin’ around today — we KNOW just how stressful Disney Genie + can be.
So we’re here with the BEST Genie+ hacks that YOU need to know (and get into your plan) before your 2024 Disney World vacation.
Living in Florida has its advantages!
Not only do many Floridians live within an easy driving distance of Disney World, but Disney often offers them special deals to keep them coming back. If you live in Florida, keep reading, because we’ve got a BRAND NEW deal for you today!
Let’s just say 2024 is a BIG year for Disney World. SO MUCH is going on, just in January alone!
Okay, so first, we’ll be kissing park pass reservations goodbye (well, most of us will, anyway). We’ll soon be park hopping WHENEVER we feel like it. Plus we’ll be able to get the Disney Dining Plan again. But that’s not the only thing that’s going to happen. Something else BIG is going down on January 12th and you’ll want to have your phone handy for it.
There are so many experiences in Disney World that go beyond visiting the theme parks.
For example, there’s the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, a fun hoedown-type dinner show at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. You can go horseback riding, boating, or any of a dozen other activities. Or you can see the world-class show, Drawn to Life: Presented by Cirque du Soleil in Disney Springs. You can even make your own Mickey Mouse CAKE and we’re going to tell you all about it.
Can you really ever have too many Disney cups and mugs? Okay, that was a trick question, because the answer is OBVIOUSLY, “No.”
The one thing about cups and mugs is that they’re useful, so there’s always a good excuse to buy more. Some cups are more popular than others; we have seen people wait for a LONG time for Trader Sam’s tiki mugs (okay, it’s us — we LOVE THEM). We’ve also seen Starbucks cups sell out FAST in Disney World. Well, speaking of that…we’ve got a whole NEW collection of mugs, as well as a new Starbucks cup, to show you.
Happy New Year, DFB Readers! It’s a new year with new food and loads of changes coming to Disney World restaurants this year.
The biggest change, though, is probably the return of the Disney Dining Plan (and we’ll be testing it when it comes back on January 9th). But we’ve also got some new restaurants opening this year, including Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs and The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers on Disney’s Boardwalk. Right now, though, we’ve got some menu changes to tell you about at Disney World restaurants.
If you want to visit Disney World during a less busy time of year, we’ve got something you might want to hear.
First, there really isn’t an “off” season in Disney World anymore, especially in 2024. Then, the Disney Dining Plan is returning, and Disney is already offering a FREE dining plan deal to those booking a trip during the year. Then there’s the return of all-day park hopping, which might entice some folks back to the parks who haven’t been in a while. A lot of people have also been waiting for Park Pass reservations to go away, and that’s happening for most visitors this year, too. But February, in general, could be a month you’ll want to avoid.
It’s been a VERY busy weekend in Disney World.
Although the holiday crowds are mostly gone, this weekend is also the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which brings THOUSANDS of runners to the parks and resorts. This is a HUGE event, and it usually impacts everything around Disney World, including traffic and, as of January 7th, the virtual queue system.
Meeting characters in Disney World can be some of the most magical moments you’ll remember for years to come.
Sometimes you just want to snap a photo on your phone, other times you’ve bought PhotoPass to download all those professional photos, and other times, you just want them to sign something of yours. But an autograph book isn’t the only thing characters can sign. In fact, this is how a super cheap Disney souvenir became a massive trend in the parks!
Well, it’s no secret that planning a trip to Disney World can be pretty expensive.
Once you’ve booked your hotel, paid for your tickets, and booked your flight, you’re already out a pretty penny. And that’s not even including those pricey Genie+ fees! It’s also no secret that price increases happen a LOT on Disney World food, and if you’re planning on eating at your hotel food court, we’ve got some news about that, too.
