We’re about to enter the busy season at Disney World. Though, who are we kidding — we haven’t seen a “busy season” in the parks for a while.
And that’s not to say Disney World isn’t busy either, in fact — it’s the opposite. Crowds can be unpredictable, and just when we thought we had it all figured out we get surprised by lower wait times than normal. We do our best to keep track of when you might expect more crowds so you can plan, and if you’re thinking about visiting Animal Kingdom soon — here are some dates you might want to avoid.

Thus far, we’ve shared updated weather notices about the storm and its projected path, the Orange County Mayor has warned of the weather impact in the area due to the hurricane, and Disney has made specific requests for those staying at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground when it comes to storm precautions. Hurricane Idalia is nearing Florida, and residents are preparing now in advance of the storm’s landfall.
The storm is expected to hit eastern Florida on Wednesday morning (August 30th), and it will pass through the state later that day. The Orange County mayor, Mayor Demings, held a press conference today (August 29th) to give an update on the county’s preparations and expectations for Hurricane Idalia.
It’s officially hurricane season in Florida and the state is experiencing its first major storm of the season.
We’ve been watching Hurricane Idalia as it approaches Florida and continues to grow stronger and stronger. Disney World has released statements and warnings for certain hotel guests and is offering a 50% hotel discount for evacuees and first responders. Orange County, where Disney World is located, is currently under Tropical Storm warning and now we’ve got an update on what the weather could look like as Idalia approaches Florida.
As Hurricane Idalia nears Florida, Disney World has made a few statements about how the parks and hotels are responding.
