We tried out the Brownie Tree Pop! This cute treat is priced at $7.25 and is returning offering from the annual Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Gingerbread House. Next up we tried out the Gingersnap Cookie! This treat is also a returning offering from the annual Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Gingerbread House and is priced at $5.50 per cookie. It’s a traditional gingersnap cookie topped with candied ginger.

Construction Updates — Main Building
We recently saw some temporary construction walls go up in the Grand Floridian lobby which at first appeared to be related to the lobby renovations, but a Cast Member confirmed that wasn’t the case.
The construction setup is all related to painting taking place for room renovations, NOT for any work on the lobby renovation.
Construction Updates — Gasparilla Island Grill
But, as we continued our stroll throughout the property, we noticed that even more construction walls have popped up — this time over near Gasparilla Island Grill!
As you exit the lobby to go outside, the terrace is blocked off so you can’t use the covered walkway to Grand Floridian Cafe or Gasparilla Island Grill.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Construction Updates — New DVC Tower
And over at the Polynesian, construction is seriously ramping up. More pipes and other supplies have been moved in…
…and it also looks like Disney is preparing to clear even more of the ground for additional construction! What could it be?
Either way, you can be sure we’ll keep an eye on all the progress, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
June 11th, 2023
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas
Construction Updates — The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers
Work continues over on the facade of The Cake Bake Shop, and that’s about all we can see right now. In addition to the large pergola structure, it also looks like crews will eventually be updating additional parts of the exterior of the building — but we’ll have to wait and see.
We’re still waiting for an official opening date, so we’ll have to just keep an eye out on construction updates for now!
Construction Updates — Trattoria Al Forno
Trattoria al Forno is currently closed for refurbishment and we were able to see inside the restaurant when we stopped by the BoardWalk the other day!
The restaurant has shared that they will offer a limited breakfast during this time, but guests who book a morning meal will be dining in the Flying Fish dining room while refurbishment happens at Trattoria. There’s also a new spot to pick up pizza on the BoardWalk while this is taking place — at a register set up just next door.
June 10th, 2023
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Construction Updates — Trail’s End
Trail’s End remains closed for updates, and when we stopped by Fort Wilderness this past weekend we didn’t see any real signs of movement — at least from the outside.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for a potential reopening date for this restaurant, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
Merchandise Updates — Meadow Trading Post
- Minnie Havaianas Sandals — $34.99
- Mickey Havaianas Sandals — $34.99
June 8th, 2023
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
Food Updates — Artist’s Palette
We stopped by the Artist’s Palette for lunch and picked up the Plant-Based Gyro. This snack isn’t new, but we haven’t had one in a while so we wanted to see how it was.
If you’re a plant-based eater or just looking for a lunch that’s NOT greasy theme park food, we think you’ll love this. It’s very flavorful and has a lot of interesting textures that work well together. We added some hot sauce to ours, which we’d highly recommend.
You can grab one for $10.79.
Other Updates — Boat Service to Disney Springs Has Been Suspended
Under normal circumstances, there are a few different docks in the Saratoga Springs Resort that connect via boat service to Disney Springs. Right now, however, that boat service has been suspended.
A Cast Member at Saratoga Springs told us that the dock area had been drained for about a week. Apparently, a lack of rain in areas up north has impacted some of the waterways to get to Disney Springs. With low water levels, it’s not possible for the boats to run.
The Cast Members didn’t know when the boats might be back up and running, but for now there’s a bus service from Saratoga to Disney Springs. You can also walk from this hotel to the Springs.
Note that Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Port Orleans — Riverside, and Port Orleans — French Quarter are also impacted by this issue. These hotels normally offer boat service to Disney Springs but are currently unable to provide that service.

Disney’s Riviera Resort
Construction Updates
Disney’s Riviera Resort is on the Skyliner line, which means you can use this transportation to get between the hotel, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT.
Between the Riviera and EPCOT, there’s a turn station that isn’t used to board or unload guests but instead is just a function to help the gondolas make the sharp right turn towards the International Gateway.
Now, Disney has added a new evacuation platform to this station, just in case it could be needed in the event of an emergency evacuation.
Hopefully, the new platform is never needed, but the Skyliner has experienced its fair share of problems in the past, so it’s good to see that there’s a plan just in case.
The Skyliner can be a really handy way to get around Disney World. Hotels with Skyliner stations include Riviera, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Construction Updates
More hotel rooms are on the way at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort — well, at least they will be sometime soon, hopefully. The new tower featuring Disney Vacation Club villas, dining locations, and more is under construction. It looks like crews are getting ready to start working in a new area, but we’ll keep an eye out for more updates.
