Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are located in the Epcot resort area, just a short walk or boat ride from the International Gateway at Epcot and a short boat ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! And, they’re two of our favorite Deluxe Hotels.
Disney’s Yacht Club, Beach Club and Beach Club Resorts share an array of amenities including Stormalong Bay (a sand bottom pool that is more like a water park, with a slide and “lazy river” feature), health club, hair salon, full service marina, Albatross Treasure Cruise, bike rentals, arcade, tennis, gym, movies under the stars, a playground and a jogging path. They are also within close proximity to dining, shopping and entertainment at Disney’s BoardWalk.
While the Yacht and Beach Club share multiple facilities, when you explore these side-by-side Disney resorts, you will discover they are very different.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Disney’s Beach Club is reminiscent of an early 20th century Atlantic seaside resort. The décor suggests “casual elegance,” featuring rooms sprinkled with wicker, seashells, sandcastles, and painted beach scenes. The resort’s pastel color palette of peach, seafoam green, pale yellow, and white reminds you of a box of saltwater taffy.
Landscaping at the Beach Club includes sand dunes with sea grass and a quiet beach dotted with lounge chairs. Run barefoot through the sand, join a game of beach volleyball or simply steal away to a secluded spot to escape with a book. In the background, laughter and soothing music intertwine to create a relaxing mood. If you listen intently, you’ll swear you hear little waves breaking along the shore.
The nightly aroma of seafood from Cape May Café, a New England Style Clam bake, evokes happy memories of golden sunsets at the beach. A double scoop cone from Beaches and Cream is a sweet finish to a day of fun at the theme parks.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
At the Yacht Club, the mood is more formal. The serene lobby’s comforting quiet sets the tone for this luxurious hotel. Antique globes and maps, ship wheels, patriotic icons and brass lamps create a nautical theme. Textures include leather chairs, dark hardwood floors and sailor’s ropes. The maritime color palette is rich in deep tones including navy, burgundy, red and gold. In comparison to its sister resort, Disney’s Beach Club, the decor here is stately and mature.
Outside, the sound of seagulls and water lapping against boats in the marina is hypnotic and peaceful. You expect to see a skipper sporting an admiral’s cap sauntering by. The landscaping is controlled and orderly with manicured lawns, short hedges and vibrant flower beds.
If all this nautical inspiration at the Yacht Club has you craving a lobster roll, head over to Ale and Compass for lunch.
At the resort’s signature restaurant, The Yachtsman Steakhouse, the aroma of aged, grain-fed beef prepared on an oak-fired grill is the perfect flavor for this upscale setting. If signature table service is out of your price range, try the Crew’s Cup Lounge located next door. They have a limited “pub” menu but the atmosphere, quality and flavors make this a hidden gem.
After dinner, indulge in a leisurely stroll along the beachfront promenade. Stop and savor the moment, feel the cool evening breeze, marvel in the lights, music, laughter and excitement across the water at Disney’s BoardWalk. At 9:00 PM, you might even catch a glimpse of Illuminations. What a life!
