Gideon’s Bakehouse
Even before the opening of the Disney Springs location, Gideon’s was famous among Orlando locals for creating incredible, fully-loaded, nearly half-pound COOKIES. Triple Chocolate Chip, Pistachio Chocolate Chip, and the Coffee Cake Cookie are just a few options to try.
The Disney Springs location features an expanded menu of Gideon’s cookies (including limited editions) and cake slices along with unique specialty coffees. (Oh, and even even little cups of frosting for cookie dipping, if you like!) Guests can also enjoy daily Hot Cookie Hours!
And we haven’t even mentioned the story behind the setting yet… According to Gideon’s, demolition done during the construction of the shop uncovered a small gap in a brick wall that contained a vintage ledger and an old daguerreotype of the shop’s owner, Jonathan Lindwurm. Lindwurm was a “purveyor of rare books and antiquities” and sold such things in his shop. And you see that the bakehouse now has some remnants of the oddities that Lindwurm curated when you visit!
To say Gideon’s Bakehouse is a popular spot is a HUGE understatement — in fact, it is one of THE most popular dessert spots in all of Disney World. A Virtual Queue is often utilized for line management. The virtual queue process is quick ‘n’ easy: you’ll sign up with an employee in front Gideon’s, and you’ll get a text when it’s your turn to return to the shop to order! Keep in mind that the wait can — and often does — get incredibly long (it can literally be several hours), so you’ll want to have a few Disney Springs activities in mind to keep you busy in the meantime. And we’ve got plenty of tips to help you out, too!
