UPDATED September 3, 2024
Something SPOOKTACULAR happens in Disneyland Resort each fall when HALLOWEEN TIME brings haunting delights to Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure! FRIGHTFUL amounts of FUN can be had throughout the Resort, and the Spooky Season is BACK from August 23rd through October 31st, 2024!
Halloween Time delivers special events, spooky decorations, “scary” snacking, and MORE to Disneyland Resort!
Let’s check out all the frightfully festive FUN for Halloween Time!
Disneyland Park
Main Street Pumpkin Festival
As you stroll along Main Street, U.S.A., you can take in all the hand-carved pumpkins of the Main Street Pumpkin Festival!
The giant Mickey pumpkin welcomes you to the whimsical scene…
Disney Characters in Costume
Look for Disney pals in their very own Halloween costumes in the park, including a NEW Halloween look for Mickey and Minnie this year!
In fact, the whole Mickey and Friends gang will be available for photo opportunities at Disneyland Park in new festive attire featuring skeleton inspirations and colorful patchwork patterns.
How adorable!!
Halloween Screams
Throughout the season, you can enjoy Halloween Screams, a supernatural projection and special effects show on Sleeping Beauty Castle each night.
The WEEKENDS feature the addition of FIREWORKS to the family-friendly show!
Haunted Mansion Holiday
The return of Haunted Mansion Holiday presents some not-so-subtle nods to The Nightmare Before Christmas thanks to some extra decorations placed by the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington!
Step inside… IF YOU DARE!
Every year, the Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland is complete with a new gingerbread house in the ballroom. And for 2024, Disney shares that “Jack Skellington, or should we say Santa Jack, has recruited Dr. Finkelstein, Halloween Town’s resident mad scientist, to conjure up some ideas for this year’s creation.”
The themed gingerbread house has been a tradition of Haunted Mansion Holiday for 23 years. Remember, Haunted Mansion Holiday stays throughout the Holiday Season, too, so you can catch this tradition through the end of the holiday season in Disneyland!
Please be aware that, for 2024, Haunted Mansion Holiday is utilizing a Virtual Queue for entry to accommodate construction work in the attraction’s queue.
Entertainment
You never know, you just may be treated to some Halloween tunes performed by none other than the Dapper Dans!
That’s Main Street’s own Barbershop Quartet!
Dia De Los Muertos
Visit Frontierland to celebrate Día de los Muertos!
As Disney shares, “the holiday is a time to remember loved ones that have passed, while we embrace our eternal connections.” Take in art, cuisine, and special cultural displays at El Zócalo Park for the Day of the Dead.
Visit Rancho del Zócalo Restaurante to dine on Mexican cuisine while you’re in Frontierland.
Happy Haunts Guided Tour
The Happiest Haunts Guided Tour of Disneyland offers a two-hour tour complete with fall decorations, spooky stories, and Lightning Lane entry to a select attraction. Participants also have the opportunity to have their photo taken with some special backgrounds — including one with the Hitchhiking Ghosts. Guests also score reserved seating for Halloween Screams on the day of their tour, and receive a Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour Pin and Trading Cards.
Reservations for the tour can be made on Disneyland’s website up to 60 days in advance. Same-day bookings up to 20 minutes prior to the tour may be made if availability allows. Tour prices are $120.00 per guest.
Disney California Adventure
Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash is an extra-ticket event held on select nights during Halloween Time at Disney California Adventure! On 27 select nights (more than ever before!) from August 25 – October 31, 2024, the one and only Oogie Boogie — along with some of his fellow Disney Villains — is once again hosting the Oogie Boogie Bash!
Guests are invited to wear costumes and experience Bash-exclusive entertainment including rarely seen characters and Treat Trails along with access to the park’s attractions and MUCH more.
And don’t forget the magic words — “Trick or Treat!” — for all the CANDY along the Treat Trails!!
And that’s just a glimpse… You can find everything included at the Oogie Boogie Bash HERE!

Entertainment
Mickey’s Trick and Treat is an interactive show that is available as a daily offering for the first time in 2024!
Disney shares that the show “encourages younger guests to join in a not-so-spooky sing and dance-along with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse at the Disney Theater in Disney California Adventure Park. With colorful projections and a lively host dressed as a mad scientist, it’s a happy haunting you’ll not soon forget!”
Decorations and Overlays
Be on the lookout — if you dare! — for spooky decor around the park.
Similar to Disneyland, Mickey Mouse and friends are out and about in Halloween costumes and seasonal decor is in place as well — like a stunning 10-foot-tall statue of the Headless Horseman.
Attractions and lands and even a few restaurants feature spooky makeovers, too. For instance, Carthay Circle is decked out for the All Hallows’ Eve Celebration, complete with bats flying through the upper windows to set the haunting scene during the day…
… and SPOOOOOOOOKY projections after the sun goes down!
And in Cars Land, Radiator Springs turns into Radiator Screams!
THIS is where the cars get in on the “Haul-O-Ween” fun… complete with their very own “car-stumes!”
Look for the transformations of Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree into Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi’s Rolickin’ Roadsters into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween!
The fun frights even extend to Avengers Campus, where the Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark seasonal overlay comes to Mission: BREAKOUT!
The Plaza de la Familia brings a celebration inspired by Dia de los Muertos to Disney California Adventure, and it runs through November 2nd, 2024.
Live music and entertainment (including “The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate The Musical World of Coco”), interactive activities, special decorations and more all come together “to celebrate the everlasting bonds of family and the spirit of the Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead.”
