Harmonious was the nighttime spectacular at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT which made its official debut on October 1, 2021 and ran throughout the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World.
PLEASE NOTE: The final performance of Harmonious was presented on April 2nd, 2023.
EPCOT Forever returned to the park on April 3, 2023 for a temporary run as the park’s nighttime spectacular. Disney brought back this classic show as a placeholder while the Entertainment team “preps the Lagoon” for an entirely new production debuting in late 2023 to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Company!

We’re exploring everything you need to know about Harmonious here on this page. But before we move forward, you may want to know, that there’s even MORE on the way…
Harmonious is one element joining several others making up the historical transformation of the park. This production delivers one of the largest spectaculars ever created for a Disney park!

Harmonious — The Production
Five huge floating set pieces house special effects for the production, which include custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights and lasers, and pyrotechnics.
These platforms support a six-story tall structure as well as four 25-foot tall LED screens and 54-foot long moving arms. The show media is “displayed on four double-sided LED panels standing 25 feet high and 88 feet long.” A central water curtain featuring more projections is 5 stories high.
The effects play such a huge role that a representative from Disney says they refer to the effects as “characters” that come to life.

Harmonious — The Music and The Story
In addition to a remarkable visual presentation complete with Disney images featuring beloved characters, Harmonious also incorporates Disney music with classic songs reinterpreted and presented by diverse cultural musicians from around the world (in more than a dozen different languages) in keeping with the international celebration that is EPCOT’s World Showcase.
Ultimately, the show celebrates “how the music of Disney inspires people the world over.”
Disney shares that Harmonious is “a transformative experience, where we can discover how Disney music has the power to inspire and unite us all with the magic of possibility.”
The soundtrack for Harmonious was produced remotely from more than 100 separate recording sessions in 9 different countries and 5 states. Nearly 240 musicians, artists, composers, arrangers, cultural consultants, and vocalists contribute their talents, including:
- Luis Fonsi, the Puerto Rican artist who has made hits like “Despacito” joins Mexican singer-songwriter Joy for versions of the songs from Coco and Saludos Amigos!
- An arrangement of “Dig a Little Deeper” from The Princess and the Frog was recorded by vocalist Bryson Camper and legendary Gospel artists Karen Clark Sheard and Kierra Sheard.
- Musical selections from Mulan, The Jungle Book, and Aladdin were created by the vocal talents of Wang Liuqi, Hollie Hammel, Aditya Rao, Gaayatri Kaundinya, Jorgie Shkara, and Sanaa Marahati.
- The Ndlovu Youth Choir from Johannesburg, South Africa sings on a compilation of songs from The Lion King, sung in both English and Zulu.
- French pop singer Damien Sargue has a rendition of “Out There” from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
- The music of Disney and Pixar’s Brave gets a Celtic kick from the dueling violins of Grammy and Emmy-nominated violinist Máiréad Nesbitt and platinum-selling electronic artist and violinist Lindsey Stirling.
Harmonious opens with a medley of “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana and “Go the Distance” from Hercules, performed by American Idol finalist and three-time Grammy nominee Danny Gokey and vocalists Elisha Garrett and Ninet Tayeb. Disney says the show ultimately builds to a finale that brings together everyone around World Showcase and from around the world, as many of the musical artists come together to perform a poignant and powerful song, bringing Harmonious to a stirring close.
Guests will also hear part of the new EPCOT anthem composed by Pinar Toprak. The music was brought together by arranger Mark Hammond and Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Music Producer and Creative Director Yaron Spiwak. Disney says the ensemble is a magnificent cultural symphony unlike anything heard before.
The show is “built in a three-Act structure,” with Act I inviting guests to Gather around World Showcase Lagoon; Act II providing an opportunity to Celebrate the various cultures and countries of the globe; and Act III calling for people to Unite “to create a bright tomorrow.”

Harmonious Barges in the World Showcase Lagoon
We kept a close eye on World Showcase Lagoon for signs of Harmonious construction since the beginning.
In February 2021, Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley revealed a behind-the-scenes video about the nighttime spectacular. This video shared footage of the installment of the “icon show platform,” which includes the 6-story tall icon ring!
The transformation is quite surprising!
You may even see the barges highlighting certain events in the park in the daytime.
For instance, the barges seen above highlight Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration!
Harmonious — NOW SHOWING through April 2, 2023
Harmonious was originally scheduled to debut in the spring of 2020; however, due to the closure of the theme parks from mid-March through mid-July 2020, the production met with delays. Harmonious made its official debut on October 1, 2021 — after a soft opening on September 28th and 29th — for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary!
Harmonious will end its run on April 2, 2023. With Harmonious ending, EPCOT Forever will return for a temporary run on April 3rd. Disney is bringing back this classic show as a placeholder while the Entertainment team “preps the Lagoon” for an entirely new production to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Company!
