food IS a theme park
Hi, DFB friends! It’s time for more of what’s new at Magic Kingdom.
As Christmas approaches, we have LOTS of merchandise updates from Magic Kingdom! Let’s jump right into it.
You might not be able to go on the Walt Disney World Railroad right now, but you can still celebrate your love for this classic attraction in several ways!
Recently, a railroad-themed dress (WITH POCKETS) and railroad-themed purses have become available online. But now railroad fans have the chance to WIN a special railroad-themed holiday item!
Disney+ has a TON of content on it for everyone to enjoy.
It has classic animated movies like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pixar favorites like Toy Story, most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all of the Star Wars movies, and even educational shows like those found on National Geographic. Some of these shows and movies are just better enjoyed when watched with others, so luckily, you can now watch your favorite Disney+ content with a LOT of people thanks to a new feature!
Lots of things have been changing or are set to change in Disneyland.
Soon, 6 different forms of entertainment will be returning to the parks, a special private party IN MICKEY’S HOUSE will become available, and Disney has announced a major Downtown Disney expansion set to take place in the future. Now, we’ve got an update about new shopping opportunities coming to Downtown Disney!
When you think of Disney World, you probably think about the amazing rides, delicious food, and cool merchandise. As magical as Disney World, emergency situations and evacuations can happen in the parks and resorts.
Last night, we shared the news about a fire having been reported in Magic Kingdom and what happened as a result. Now, we’ve got an update from the Reedy Creek Firefighters Association about what reportedly caused the entire situation to transpire.
Are you looking for a light meal in Disney World? Maybe one that doesn’t leave you feeling super full when all you want to do is drink around the world?
Disney World has taken an iconic French treat to the next level with this new EPCOT restaurant, with a menu full of sweet AND savory items and a tasty meal that isn’t quite the usual theme park experience. But, is it worth YOUR time & money?
As much as we love Disney World, we’d be lying if we said there wasn’t at least one thing we wouldn’t mind seeing removed from the parks.
You might like to see a certain ride removed, or maybe a restaurant, or you might want to see policies changed. We asked our readers (that’s YOU!) what you’d like to see gone from Disney World. Here’s what you said!
Disney World has taken their Minnie ears headband game to the next level with some seriously impressive (and expensive) 50th Anniversary ears.
You can get gold leather ears for $225, bedazzled ears for $750, or even a gold, bedazzled Mickey ears hat for $1000. But if you’re looking for some 50th-themed ears that aren’t going to cost you an arm and a leg, you’ll love Disney World’s newest accessory. And now you don’t even have to be in the parks to get these fabulous ears!
Prix fixe menus, or multi-course meals at a singular fixed price, have become more commonplace around Disney World. More recently, menus at new restaurants like Space 220 are totally centered around the prix fixe experience (EPCOT’s other new restaurant, La Crêperie de Paris, has a prix fixe option on their menu as well). Some long-standing restaurants have shifted to a prix fixe model as well, including Be Our Guest Restaurant, Cinderella’s Royal Table, and the new three-course menu at California Grill for the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Is this just a slick new way for Disney World to get guests to pay more for more food than they’ll actually eat while disguising it as a bargain?
UPDATE: As of the next day, December 15th, Magic Kingdom is back to normal. The small fire was quickly and safely extinguished, and now the Cinderella Castle and surrounding area are open again for guests to visit. Cinderella’s Royal Table (which was evacuated during the emergency) is also open again now.
As magical as Disney World can be, emergency situations and evacuations can happen in the parks, resorts, and on transportation.
We’ve seen rides evacuated, transportation shut down, and more. Earlier tonight, a fire was reported in Magic Kingdom, causing some emergency vehicles to be sent into the park. Here’s a look at how Disney handled the guests after the reported fire.
