2021 was a year of change in the Disney parks. On the one hand, a lot of things reopened that we had been missing since the 2020 closure.

We also gained a lot of new experiences (especially around that historical 50th Anniversary celebration). But with these openings and reopenings also came closures and losses that will continue to impact Disney as it rolls its way into the new year.
There seems to be an endless list of things we need on our Disney World vacations: our favorite rides, top-notch restaurants, fireworks, a day by the pool, a photo with Mickey Mouse, and a new pair of Minnie Ears. But there are also several things that many of us would be more than okay living WITHOUT.

Disney Springs
If you head over to Disney Springs, the shopping district in Disney World, you can find restaurants by world-class chefs with a huge variety of food options. There’s great Asian cuisine at Morimoto Asia, some of the best fried chicken you’ll ever have at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, and delicious flavors from Spain at Jaleo (just to name a few). But even if you recognize those restaurants, you may not have heard of the place we’re heading today. We’ve been knee-deep in holiday snacks, holiday merchandise, and holiday decor at Disney World.

But in case you haven’t noticed, it’s almost the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022. And we’ve been hunting for some new 2022 merchandise ALL over the parks! And we FINALLY found a pair of Minnie ears we’ve been looking for!

We’d gladly take Mickey-shaped food over regular food any day! Even if we’re not in the parks, eating Mickey-shaped foods always adds a little extra fun to our meals, (as long as we don’t think too much about the fact that we’re biting our oldest Disney friend’s head off.) Anyways, we’re here for anything and everything Mickey-shaped, and we just found a savory recipe that fits the bill!

And the most iconic thing at Magic Kingdom, Cinderella Castle, has been decked out with glorious 50th anniversary EARidescent details, including a gigantic “50” in the center! And if you’re looking for a keepsake with that castle on it, get ready to mark your calendar!
Earlier this year, Disneyland shocked us all when they announced a project known as DisneylandForward. This announcement perhaps left us with more questions than answers, and since that time, there haven’t really been any updates!

And there are a LOT of changes coming to Disney World in the New Year. We’ll see the grand opening of the new Star Wars Hotel, the opening of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride, and the end of the Magical Express. The Magical Express is the complimentary transportation service to and from Orlando International Airport for guests staying at Disney World resorts.

This “Industrial Gothic”-style restaurant has live entertainment, fun drinks, and even some bacon on a clothesline! We’ve had some fun meals at this little restaurant tucked deep back in Disney Springs, but recently we noticed some price changes that you should know about.
