Hello, DFB friends! We visited some Disney World Resort Hotels this week and we have a lot of updates!

Disney’s Contemporary Resort continues to be under construction, while the entrance of Disney’s Polynesian Resort is open again! Let’s get into it!
Although we’re knee-deep in the Halloween season at Disney World AND Disneyland, we can’t help but start thinking about the holidays.
The holidays will be here sooner than you think!
We’re not the only ones because when we went to check shopDisney recently, we noticed that there were brand new holiday items available to buy online now! Cue the Christmas carols!
It’s Halloween time at the Disney parks and Cars Land has gotten a full Halloween makeover (even Mater is in his Halloween best!).

We’ve tried a bunch of Halloween treats at Disneyland already including Halloween Grey Stuff, Pumpkin Cheesecake Funnel Cake, Seasonal Monkey Bread, Ghost Pepper Nachos, and Chocolate Matcha Churros. But now, there’s a spooky new souvenir that will take your drinks up a notch!
If you’re planning a trip to Disney World you’ve got to think about a whole bunch of different things — hotels, tickets, Park Pass reservations, dining reservations, flights/transportation, and (of course) what to pack!

But another thing you’ll also need to think about is just WHERE to pack your items. Anyone else got that old, dusty luggage sitting in their closet from a million years ago? Maybe it’s time for a luggage upgrade? Maybe you know you’ll be bringing back a LOT of souvenirs and need a bigger bag to put them in? Or maybe you’ve got little ones who need luggage of their own? Whatever the case, if you’re in the neighborhood for new luggage, we’ve got you covered!
Think you’re a fan of the Disney/Pixar movie franchise, Cars? Do you obsess over that speedy racecar star Lightning McQueen?

It’s been a busy week trying out new snacks, diving into some old favorites, and spending some time checking out everything going on with Disney World restaurants. And with the 50th anniversary celebration quickly approaching, there is A LOT going on!
Carnation Cafe is a historic Disneyland spot known for delicious American cuisine!
Carnation Café
This spot has been a landmark on Main Street, U.S.A. since 1955, and offers modern versions of classic cafe dishes. We’ve been a big fan of this restaurant for a long time, as it is home to many classic Disneyland dishes including Walt’s Chili. Since Disneyland reopened in April, its restaurants have continued to reopen slowly. Recently, Carnation Cafe reopened and we had to stop by and check it out!
Although Disney World reopened over a year ago, there have been some activities that still haven’t returned to the resort.
Boat rentals are back!
We still haven’t seen the return of services like the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, some resorts remain closed (but are scheduled to reopen by the end of the year), and some resort activities haven’t come back.
Over the past year, Disney has been doing A LOT of construction on new attractions, restaurants, resorts, and even shops in preparation for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary.

We’ve been bringing you a look at all of the progress week by and week and now it’s time to check in on it all once again. And, it’s looking like quite a few things are just about ready for the big party that will kick off on October 1st!
Disney’s Fastpass+ service is no longer in place, but there’s a NEW Fastpass+ replacement coming soon to Disney World called Disney Genie+. If you miss strolling through the Fastpass line to board your favorite attraction, you might be interested in paying for Disney Genie+, which will give guests access to over 40 attractions in Disney World.

As we wait for Disney Genie to take over, we’ve been keeping our eyes out for new Lightning Lane signage around the parks. We put together a handy little list of ALL the Disney attractions that will use Lightning Lanes (AKA the old Fastpass lane).
