The start of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations is just a few days away!
Cinderella Castle
We’ve already seen lots of merchandise, decorations, and more in the parks. But, the Most Magical Place on Earth isn’t the only place celebrating a big milestone this year. Now, Disney World and a popular airline have partnered together to celebrate their anniversaries and create one incredible plane you won’t want to miss!
It can feel like there are countless options when choosing your overnight accommodations for your Disney World vacation. You can stay on Disney World property at one of their dozens of resort hotels, or you can stay off property at a hotel or a vacation rental! Orlando is, after all, one of the top vacation destinations in the country, catering to all sorts of tourists with different budgets and preferences!

Disney World’s 50th Anniversary means we get to say hello to some new offerings…but it also means we have to say some goodbyes.
EPCOT Forever Fireworks
In preparation for the start of Harmonious (the much-anticipated new EPCOT nighttime show), we have to say goodbye to EPCOT Forever. EPCOT Forever was intended to serve as a placeholder as EPCOT transitioned from Illuminations to Harmonious, and now the final night of the show has arrived.
Tomorrow, Harmonious, EPCOT’s new fireworks show, will soft open, ahead of its big debut on October 1st.
Harmonious Barges
While many are surely excited to see the new show, quite a few people have complained about how these barges obstruct the view across World Showcase Lagoon. We’ve even called it “EPCOT’s ugliest transformation,” and we have a feeling some people out there might agree with that description. 😬 But today, as we walked past these barges, we got a peek at one thing that could make them look a bit better!
If you’re heading to Disney World for the 50th Anniversary, you’ll have TONS of new items to shop all around the parks and resorts.

Last week, two new collections landed in The Emporium at Magic Kingdom, bringing with them over 100 new products! Now, there’s another new series of items in Disney Springs — the highly-anticipated Vault Collection.
It’s almost here — the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort!

We’re excited to celebrate with fireworks, new entertainment, merchandise, and so much more. But here at DFB, there’s typically one thing that gets us extra pumped — Disney World snacks! And today we got the full list of treats and special eats coming to the parks and resorts for the 50th.
There’s a whole lot to experience at the 2021 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival!
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival
Between the food booths, merchandise, and activities, you could spend days just checking out everything there is to see throughout EPCOT. We’ve already shared FULL reviews of every single booth at this year’s festival (save for the booths that haven’t opened yet). But now, a brand NEW dish has arrived at one of the food booths and we just had to go check it out!
Disney’s Imagineers really test the bounds of technology as they make incredible feats with their creations featured at the Disney Parks, the Disney Cruise Line, and beyond!
Na’vi River Journey
We all know and love features like the shadows during the queue of Peter Pan’s Flight and the immersive environment of Animal Kingdom’s Na’vi River Journey, but there is SO much new technology in the works right now. We’ll see facial recognition, a walking Baby Groot, massive human-controlled character puppets, real lightsabers, and more! And, now Disney is working with Amazon to bring a bit of that awesome technology into your home with the brand new “Hey, Disney!” feature on Alexa devices!
There is SO much going on at Disney World. It turns out that getting the resort ready for the big 50th Anniversary celebration is a LOT of work!
Main Street Confectionery
So far, Cinderella Castle has undergone quite the transformation, Fantasyland has gotten a golden glow-up, and gold statues have popped up in the parks. The Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom has also been closed for some renovations, but now (a day ahead of its set reopening date) the Confectionery has opened its doors and we got a peek inside!
