4 Things Disney World Character Attendants Want To Tell You But Won’t Cause They’re Too Nice

Ever dreamed about what it’s like to work at Disney World? It’s certainly a unique job; not many people can say that their boss is a mouse. Well, today, I want to talk about a very specific type of Cast Member: the Character Attendant. These people have a FUN job, but what’s it really like to work so closely with THE Mickey Mouse? I’m glad you asked!

When you meet a character in Disney World, there will ALWAYS be a Character Attendant nearby. A Character Attendant is not the same thing as the character itself; the Cast Members wearing the blue polo shirts are Character Attendants (a.k.a. “blueberries“). These Cast Members are there to help! Need a pen for autographs? Need someone to translate Mickey’s “Happy Birthday” message? That’s the job of a Character Attendant! As a former Character Attendant, I know what it’s like to monitor the line, keep an eye on character interactions, take photos, and keep an eye on the time…all at the same time. There are lots of transportation options for you to use while at Disney World.

The Walt Disney World Monorail at EPCOT

The Monorail can take you between the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), Magic Kingdom, Magic Kingdom Resorts, and EPCOT. Buses run from all four parks, the water parks, Disney Springs, and hotels. And there’s the popular Skyliner that runs between several hotels, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. But you can also catch rideshare vehicles, including the cute Minnie Vans. While the Monorail, buses, and Skyliner are free options, sometimes paying for a ride share vehicle might be worth it. But there’s one thing about the Minnie Vans that you never knew before!

NEW Permit Hints at CHANGES Coming Soon to Tomorrowland Ride in Magic Kingdom

Disney World always keeps its rides up to date and working properly to ensure a great guest experience.

Disney will often close rides to do refurbishments for routine maintenance, or sometimes rides won’t even have to close down for the Imagineers to make small adjustments. Depending on the maintenance, refurbishments can take less than a day to do or over a year (as will be the case with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad). A new permit that we spotted for another Magic Kingdom ride hints that maintenance of some kind is coming soon.
