Hello from the Magic Kingdom!
We spent a day wandering around all the lands just to see what’s new — so here are the latest updates!
All year long, it’s been an ever-unfolding saga of news, reports, statistics, mandates, and lockdowns due to COVID-19. Finding it hard to keep up? You’re not alone!
Now with the holidays upon us, and as people tend to gather indoors in greater numbers due to chillier weather and festive traditions, the Centers for Disease Control is adding to its mask-wearing recommendations.
This time of year, what Disney World lacks in snow, it MORE than makes up for with enough gingerbread desserts to make your tastebuds think you’re in Arendelle!
From gingerbread churros to Gingerbread Salted Caramel Buttercream Cookie Sandwiches, we literally can’t get enough! Now a NEW cupcake contender has entered the festive fray, and it’s showing up NOW for Mobile Order at Fort Wilderness Resort!
Let’s be honest: more often than not, when those sweet cravings hit at Disney World, we go BANANAS for over-the-top ice cream sundaes, colossal ice cream sandwiches, and Boston Cream Pie Donuts the size of…Boston. But sometimes — just sometimes! — all we want is a lil’ treat!
While roving around EPCOT, we found the PERFECT solution for those dainty cravings in the form of a macaron surprise!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Disney Springs!
And so many of the dining locations there have started to get into the holiday spirit — we’ve tried several holiday treats at Disney Springs, as well as seen some great holiday decorations. And there are even holiday deals to be had!
Disney’s Polynesian Resort has been offering a selection of special merchandise from Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii!
We’ve seen a lot of merchandise specifically featuring Olu Mel, the turtle companion of Duffy. He even got his own cupcake! Now, ALL of Duffy and friends can be spotted on a headband made exclusively for Aulani Resort! Oh, and a tropical tote bag caught our eye, too!
As with many things this year, New Year’s Eve is sure to look a bit different in Disney World this time around!
From the Candlelight Processional in EPCOT to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom, a number of fan-favorite holiday offerings in Disney World have been canceled this year in the interest of health and safety. So, with New Year’s Eve drawing near, will guests have an opportunity to experience fireworks as part of the festivities?
We’ve been busy trying out all the holiday snacks at Disney World, and new ones keep popping up every day!
And a lot of those snacks are cupcakes, including Wilderness Lodge’s Christmas Cupcake, an eggnog cupcake, and a red velvet wreath cupcake. And so many of these cupcakes are so pretty to look at, but the proof is in the taste — which is why we buy and try them ALL!
We’ve been eating our way around Disney Springs since its reopening, revisiting old favorites (like Wine Bar George), but also revisiting some locations that haven’t always been on our “must” lists.
One of those that rarely makes our “must do” list is Planet Hollywood Observatory. Typically known more for its movie memorabilia than its food, we’ve often left rather unimpressed by the eats. But we revisited it recently to see if there was anything on the menu that could change our mind. [Read more…]
A few days ago, it was announced that a stay-at-home order could go into effect in Southern California.
This morning, we saw that the ICU availability dropped below 15% which triggered this order into action. And tonight it was announced that the order would begin on December 6th at 11:59PM.
