With Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom set to reopen to guests on July 11th, followed by Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th, we’re learning more about which transportation options will be available.

Guests staying in Magic Kingdom area hotels typically have access to water taxi transportation to take them between their resort and the park. But upon the initial reopening, only select hotels will have access to the water taxi service.
WOW! We’ve been back inside Magic Kingdom for the first time since it closed its gates in mid-March! The experience was VERY different than what we’re used to when it comes to visiting a Disney World theme park!

Keep in mind that while our first experience back was a Cast Member preview day with very limited crowds, one of if not THE most noticeable differences we experienced was the impact on crowds from the limited capacity. In order to accommodate physical distancing and to keep crowds at bay, Disney has drastically reduced their capacity and controls the number of people in the parks via their new Disney Park Pass Reservation System. Moments ago, we told you Disney Skyliner would be loading only one party per gondola and that Disney World’s parking lot trams would be unavailable when the parks reopen.
Yesterday we had our first experience watching Disney World’s new Character Cavalcades roll by at Magic Kingdom!

Instead of character greetings, parades, and fireworks shows (which have been temporarily put on hold), guests can enjoy these smaller processionals which are featured randomly throughout the day. That way, folks will still have the opportunity to interact and snap of few pics of their favorite Disney friends — but from afar!
We’ve got some NEW updates from the Disney World hotels!
Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Though some Disney World resort hotels are already open, there are a bunch that we’re still waiting on. The next hotels on the docket for reopening are Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort on July 10th. Well today, we just got an update for EVERYTHING that’s opening at Pop Century Resort! Check it out!
Many Walt Disney World Resort hotels have reopened in preparation for the theme parks phased reopening beginning this Saturday.

Shades of Green Resort, the Walt Disney World hotel reserved for members of the military, closed temporarily in March. The closure was scheduled to last until July 1st and was later postponed to July 15th.
We’re inching closer and closer to Disney World’s grand reopening this weekend!

Along with things like Disney World transportation and many in-park dining locations resuming operations soon, we’ve now learned that a few more restaurants are reopening as well!
We’ll be honest, there were a few modifications we were already a feeling a little apprehensive about before we arrived at Magic Kingdom yesterday.

One of the biggest changes we were having a hard time wrapping our heads around was the new Character Cavalcades at Disney World. A while ago, Disney told us they would be replacing their standard entertainment offerings with these unscheduled performances since character meet and greets, parades, and firework shows will be returning at a later time.
Moments ago, we learned Disney World’s parking lot trams will not be operating for the time when the parks reopen.

And while Disney World has previously announced Disney Skyliner service will resume on July 15th, they’ve just announced a new important safety detail!
Walt Disney World is preparing to reopen this weekend. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will open on July 11th with Hollywood Studios and EPCOT following closely on July 15th.
