Three cheers for Chef José Andrés!
We love hearing about people stepping up to help others during these difficult times. And celebrity chef, José Andrés, the owner of Jaleo and Pepe in Disney Springs, has done just that! He has temporarily converted several of his locations into community kitchens to assist those in need of affordable meals. But he’s going a step further to thank doctors and nurses for their hard work!
Wow, we really just want to experience the salt on our skin and the wind in our hair on a Disney Cruise right now.
And, since many of the sailings are canceled through June, we’re having to create our own at-home journey across the seas! So, come aboard, mateys, because it’s time to get CREATIVE!!
There have been A LOT of questions about when Disney World will be re-opening.
And, along with representatives from other theme parks, Josh D’Amaro has been working on the Re-Open Florida Task Force to determine the best protocols for opening up public spaces again. After the recent task force meeting, there were a lot of discussions surrounding the safest ways to provide access to cruise lines, restaurants, airports, and theme parks across the state.
Disney artists and animators have taken us to different worlds, brought us along on epic journeys, and introduced us to iconic characters.
While have been pretty artistic ourselves making our own Adventure Books, DIY Disney Scratch-N-Sniff Stickers, and painting our walls (like Rapunzel, of course), this Disney fan is taking it to the NEXT LEVEL.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Walt Disney World’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground has been entertaining diners for almost 45 years, and we’ve certainly enjoyed our share of shows by the Pioneer Hall Players. (Read our last review of Hoop-Dee-Doo here!)
But while Hoop-Dee-Doo is known for its on-stage antics and overall energy, the food has not taken center stage. Not even close. The fare includes traditional crowd-pleasers like fried chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, and cornbread, but this is basically banquet food churned out in what feels like a conveyor belt production.
So why would I still say Hoop-Dee-Doo is something everyone should try at least once? Because the show is entertaining enough to justify enduring some mediocre food. And you’re really paying for that entertainment, not for the grub. (Although, of course, we see high-priced mediocre foods in plenty of restaurants that don’t have shows, soooo… .)
I kept my recent ADR for Hoop-Dee-Doo because of the show and because I like to give Walt Disney World restaurants a second (and a third and an infinite) try. Has the food improved? Is the show still compelling? Let’s see how they’re Hoop-Dee-Doin’ it.
While we’ve been chilling at home, our online shopping carts have been adding up with lots of Disney merchandise.
Even though the parks are closed currently, Disney has been rolling out SO many new collections and lines (and we want them all!!). Since right now is obviously the perfect time to stock up on everything new and exciting, we’re taking you with us on a round-up of the latest merchandise!
We’ve been hard at work scoping out all the latest news for you this week. Today we have all the details on what’s happening that affects the Disney Parks.
Due to the current global situation, ALL Disney Parks will be closed until further notice. See all of our coverage HERE. But we still have a lot to share with you this week, so let’s jump right in… .
Disney has brought a smile to our face in a lot of ways over the last few weeks. Whether it’s reading us bedtime stories or streaming live on Facebook, Disney performers and celebrities have come into our homes digitally in ways that have brought some joy to these uncertain times. But these aren’t the only ways they’re making us smile.
There has been so much GOOD NEWS to celebrate coming from this crisis. Therefore, we want to share seven of our favorite stories with you today!
We’re the kind of Disney guests that literally count down the days before our trip.
And, as strange as it may seem, packing can be part of the fun! Once you start pulling out those Minnie Ears and your kids’ princess costumes, the magic really starts to come to life. Buuut, you might want to double-check your packing list for your next vacation because you totally DON’T need to bring these items with you!
