News! New Steak (With NO Mac and Cheese) Debuts at Mama Melrose in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been a guest go-to for years, and the Strip Steak with Mac and Cheese has — by far — the most fans (yours truly included).

The 2017 Gingerbread Display at Disney World’s BoardWalk Inn

We’ve been checking out ALL THE GINGERBREAD Displays in Disney World from the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House to the Beach Club’s Gingerbread Carousel. Today, we’re at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and we arrived not knowing exactly what to expect.

You see, the BoardWalk’s Gingerbread Display has varied over the years. You may recall the Sweet Shoppe theme or the days-of-yore Gazebo, or even the year that Stitch took over. Last year, the BoardWalk gave the Resort’s Pastry Chefs the opportunity to create several individual gingerbread houses themed to their choosing.

But for 2017, the whole team is back in action together, and they’ve created a brand new display themed after something very near and dear to our hearts… the BoardWalk’s restaurants!

News and Review: Donut Nuggets at D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs!

Here at the DFB, we love a good Disney food mash-up, but truth be told, even in our wildest dreams we never conjured up this one: Donut Nuggets.

We know, we know: they sound intriguing and delicious. (And maybe just a smidgen odd…)

The masters of American casual comfort food at D-Luxe Burger are the brainiacs behind this new creation, and since we are masters of, you know, eating donuts and nuggs, we had to get in on the action.

D-Luxe has quickly gone to the top of our favorite counter service burgers because — for once! — the burgers themselves aren’t overdone hockey pucks! We also enjoy the clever combinations of ingredients, like the Southern Burger with fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese (the caviar of the south, y’all!). Plus they have several dipping sauces, and that’s never a bad thing.

News: Spy Glass Grille Opening in Early 2018 at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Dining options at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort have been very limited since this spring when the Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters, and the Banana Cabana Pool Bar closed as part of the huge renovation project happening at the resort.

In addition to the three Island Markets (aka repurposed hotel rooms), where guests can find grab-and-go items and purchase refillable mugs, breakfast and dinner are available in a temporary tent located near Centertown, and a food truck is also on site.

But there’s some good news to report! According to wdwnt.com, a new quick service location is set to open in early 2018 at the resort! [Read more…]

Gingerbread Display Seasonal Wine Slushie (!!) at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs

Over the past few weeks, you have probably gathered that one of our DFB holiday traditions is exploring all the Gingerbread Displays in Disney World Deluxe Resorts like the Beach Club Carousel and the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House. And we’ve already enjoyed some yuletide fun in Disney Springs at the Christmas Tree Trail. But now we’re able to combine a bit of both thanks to the Gingerbread Display at Amorette’s Patisserie!

This new display (seen through the front window to the right of the entrance) captures well known scenes and icons of Disney Springs, like the House of Blues water tower and the Planet Hollywood Observatory.

News: Holiday Elephant Tiki Mug Coming to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar on November 30th

You may recall the debut of the 2016 Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts Tiki Mug at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, causing lines for daaaayz of guests hoping to grab the limited edition piece (and causing more of the same when it arrived at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto in Disney World shortly thereafter). Well, get ready to face those lines again, my friends… because the 1st Edition Holiday Elephant Tiki Mug will arrive at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar in Disneyland Hotel on November 30th!

Because not only are we checking out several of our favorite versions of Disney Mac and Cheese… we’ll also tell you how you can get a list of EACH and EVERY Mac and Cheese in Disney World! Basically, if I see Mac and Cheese on any Disney World menu, I order it so I can let you know where you can find your ideal dish. Does Mac and Cheese topped with pulled pork, coleslaw, AND onion rings appeal to you? How about shrimp-topped mac and cheese? Or are you more of a purist? No matter what, you’re bound to find at least one version (and probably more) that you’ll need to try on your next Disney World trip!
