Two brand new narrators and two returning narrators have been added to the list for the 2017 Epcot Candlelight Processional!
Warwick Davis from Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (Wicket!) and Willow, and Matt Bomer from White Collar and The Last Tycoon will be joining the Processional for the first time.
And returning to the Processional will be Whoopi Goldberg (honored as a Disney Legend this year) and Chandra Wilson form Grey’s Anatomy. [Read more…]

Aaaaand I’m back at Contempo Café!
No surprise, really. After all, this Counter Service spot in Disney’s Contemporary Resort is easy enough for anyone to get to, regardless of whether or not you are staying at any of the Resorts on the Monorail Loop. Because I’m thinking it’s a pretty safe bet that your Disney World vacation plans include a trip to the Magic Kingdom. And the Contemporary boasts not only easy access via Monorail; it’s also the only Resort you can walk to directly from Magic Kingdom!
Even more, though, I love to stop here due to Contempo Café’s history of serving better-than-you’d-expect counter service grub, from surprisingly memorable entrees to some seriously stellar desserts.
So stroll or Monorail on in with me to check out what’s new (and which of my favorite entrees has remained, thankfully, nearly unchanged) at the Contempo Café!
Contempo Cafe is located in the Grand Canyon Concourse adjacent to Chef Mickey’s. Basically, there’s no way you can go hungry in this zone! Contempo Cafe definitely has that we’re-trying-to-be-contemporary vibe that we know and love of the Resort, with lots of linear design and brushed nickel finishes.
It’s bright, open and, well… pretty loud most of the time. Aside from the Monorail zooming through regularly (hooray!), you get chatter from both open-air restaurants and the general hullabaloo of a busy resort. I find it to be festive, but if you’re craving some quiet, this may not be your spot. [Read more…]

Several Marketplace Booths for the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival started popping up around World Showcase late last month. And while it was exciting to see things starting to get set up in anticipation of the Festival, they were Booths that we’ve become well acquainted with over the years.
But NOW the landscape at Epcot is really starting to change in this FINAL WEEK prior to the Festival’s kickoff. Because all over World Showcase, we’re seeing several of this year’s BRAND NEW BOOTHS!!
And I gotta tell ya… I think they look terrific! Signs aren’t up yet for which booth is which, but I’m thinking this booth is for Thailand, right? [Read more…]

No more going over your latest dining receipt to check out how many Snacks, Quick Service, or Table Service credits you have left (aaah, the ol’ days…). It will all be right there on your phone! (Seriously. Why wasn’t this done, like, years ago?) [Read more…]

If you didn’t get a chance to take a final spin on the Universe of Energy, there’s still a way to pay tribute to the classic Epcot attraction.
Just stop by La Cava del Tequila in the Mexico Pavilion!
Just like in fall of 2014 when La Cava honored the Maelstrom with a specialty margarita (which you can still get today!), the Universe of Energy has received a nod with the Universe of Energy Margarita!
This tribute-in-a-glass features Mezcal, Senorio Blanco, Liquor Ancho Reyes Verde, Guanabana Liqeuer (which is made with the Guanabana fruit [aka soursop] and rum and has flavors of strawberry and pineapple), fresh apple and lemon juice, and agave nectar.
It’s served on the rocks, as you can see here. [Read more…]
Jambo from The Mara in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!
It wasn’t all that long ago that we were here, pointing out three Must-Eat Snacks at the Lodge’s Counter Service option and sipping on some new-to-The-Mara Frozen Jungle Juice. But the Jungle Juice wasn’t the only new thing we found on that visit, which is what we’re excited to share with you today.
Longtime standouts at The Mara for lunch and dinner include unique items such as African Potjie Stew and tasty Soups of the Day alongside classic Burgers, Flatbreads, and Chicken Breast Nuggets.
That said, they aren’t afraid to switch things up every once in a while — and that’s a VERY good thing! Every so often, your basic Hot Dog or sandwich gets a bit of an African-inspired twist, as is the case with two of the three new items we’re trying today.
So, come right back into The Mara with us!
The Mara gets its name from the Masai Mara National Reserve, located in southwestern Kenya on the border of Tanzania. The small food court is only accessible from outside the resort, on the lower level and near the pool. Once inside, you’ll immediately notice the ceiling artfully mimicking the tree tops and some soft ambient lighting that creates interesting shadows. [Read more…]

According to Orlando Weekly, The Edison Complex — which is slated to open late this year — will house an Italian restaurant by the name of Maria & Enzo’s.
And this seems to be supported by a job posting on the Patina Group website! A posting for the position of Sous Chef in Disney Springs reveals the following:
“Four new concepts that will be connected as part of one large complex and will be introduced to Disney Springs in the Fall of 2017. Each of the concepts is housed in key locations that play an integral role in the Disney Springs origin story, such as the former airline terminal, an underground rum running tunnel, and the former electrical power plant, providing rich territory for story-telling. The locations will treasure Italian authenticity create unique cultural immersion experiences through fine cuisine, beverages, and atmosphere.” [Read more…]
