News: Dessert and Dinner Events Announced for the Final Year of Osborne Lights at Disney World

Well, I don’t know if this is a huge surprise with all of the upcoming construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to make way for Toy Story and Star Wars Lands, but it is with some melancholy that we learned that it is — indeed — official: this Holiday Season will be the final year for The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights — the joyful and unique holiday celebration featuring millions of lights synchronized to holiday music at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The display will run from November 6, 2015 through January 3, 2016.

Two new events have been announced in conjunction with the final year of the Spectacle (a chance to “go out with a bang,” so to speak): the Merry & Bright Dessert Party will take place from November 6th – December 30th, and the Merry & Bright Dinner Reception will be available to book for the first days of the New Year, January 1 – 3, 2016. 2015 Food and Wine Festival Booth Preview: Dominican Republic and Brazil Booths

The 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival is less than a month away!

The big day is September 25 – that’s the beginning of seven weeks of incredible food and drinks in Epcot! And this year marks the Festival’s 20th anniversary so you know it’s going to be something special.

This year’s Culinary Demonstrations, Beverage and Mixology Seminars promise something for everyone; but, the food and drinks at the Marketplace Booths are what we’re most excited about.

Today we’re going to showcase two booths – one of which hasn’t been at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival since 2007! We’re talking about fan-favorite Brazil, which returned to the festival in 2013 and the Dominican Republic, which is making a return after several years away from the festival!

The Dominican Republic has been on hiatus since 2007 but is returning to the festival and we can’t wait to try all the dishes from this Caribbean island nation!

The booth used will be the brand new-last-year booth that was created for Puerto Rico. With PR not returning to the festival this year, DR will take over that booth and location!

Spotted at Epcot’s Rose and Crown: Crabbie’s Cloudy Lemonade

Ready for some beer that doesn’t really seem like beer but is still super awesome? Let’s go to Epcot!

When you’re wandering around this great-for-food-and-beverage-lovers park, you never know what you’re going to come upon. There’s that great value — and surprisingly hidden — Epcot wine walk, the sweet deal of the cheese plate and wine flight at Weinkeller, that killer cronut, and probably lots more that you might never have known about.

One of my favorite not-so-hidden gems here is the Rose and Crown Beer Stand. I say not-so-hidden because there are several times during the day when you will likely have to change your walking path in order to swerve around the line that builds up here. 😉

Rose and Crown proper is a great pub and restaurant, and we love stopping in for a pint. But if necessary, you can skip the air con and taking a load off in the pub (thank you, toddler) and instead get your drink to go at the Beer Stand.

You’ll find the line (make sure you get into the right one) to the left of the check-in area at the restaurant. The walk-up location serves specialty bottled and draft beers.

SNEAK PEEK: New Disney-Branded Allergy Friendly Snacks

Here’s a bit of news for ya — there are about to be some changes coming up with Disney-branded, pre-packaged snacks and we have a sneak peek for you today at one of the new varieties!

The parks and resorts will soon start selling a Disney-branded allergy friendly line of snacks!

Snacks With Character Allergy Friendly Snack

The new line will include Chocolate Chip Crunchy Cookies, Sugar Crisp Crunchy Cookies, and Mountain Mambo Seed & Fruit Mix. The allergy friendly snacks will be billed “Snacks with Character,” and each will feature a well-known Disney character. Review: Redd Rockett’s Pizza Port in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland

So, you’re up in space (I know — “What else is new,” right?) and suddenly you have a hankerin’ for a slice of pizza. Before space pilot Redd Rockett came along, your mission would have been… well, impossible.

But not anymore, thanks to Redd Rockett’s Pizza Port in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland!

You see, the backstory for Pizza Port revolves around the difficulty experienced by astronauts of finding a “decent pizza” in space (#SpaceProblems — you know how it goes). That is, until Redd Rockett decided to solve that problem once and for all by setting up a pizza port in the sector. Disney Food Post Round-Up: September 6, 2015

We made it through the first full week of September, which means we’re getting closer and closer to the 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!

In other exciting news, we found out that Morimoto Asia is opening at the end of this month in Disney World; and in Disneyland, guests can grab the opportunity to dine INSIDE the Jungle Cruise!

We have a lot to share, so let’s jump right in!

Morimoto Asia is scheduled to open September 30! Reservations may be available via Open Table on September 16.
Sci-Fi Dine-In is serving breakfast for a limited time this fall!
A new Disneyland Jungle Cruise Safari Breakfast has been announced! It’s happening from September 21 through December 2.
