I had an awesome weekend in Disneyland, but today I’m headed to New Fantasyland with a lunch review of Be Our Guest Restaurant in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom!
The restaurant has taken the park by storm. Even after being open for more than a year, it’s still one of the top draws in New Fantasyland. If you want to eat lunch here, be prepared for long lines!
But on a recent visit to Walt Disney World, I had a little surprise awaiting me in my email inbox — the opportunity to use FastPass+ for a lunch reservation at Be Our Guest. No way was I passing up the opportunity to eat lunch here without waiting in line. Come along with me across the bridge to the Beast’s Castle!

We first told you about the FastPass+ system a while back, when Erin Foster had the opportunity to test it out.

Erin found the whole process to be practically flawless. So I was anxious to see if they had streamlined it even further since that early testing phase.
Booking the FastPass+ reservation was similar to making a regular advance dining reservation. I thought the FastPass+ option for Be Our Guest was still an invite-only opportunity, but if you see the comment by a reader below, it looks like anyone with a resort reservation can book it. I haven’t tried, so let us know what your mileage is.
Once I’d logged in at the special website, I was offered several different times to dine. The time window works like a regular FastPass — you have a specific window of time in which to show up and use your FastPass. I chose a late lunchtime, but I was really hoping for an early option.
And here’s a TIP: I preferred an earlier dining time, so I checked back the next morning and an earlier spot had opened up! So be sure to secure a table, any table. There’s a good chance you can change your time later. In fact, you can change your time up until arrival.
Choosing the Time for Your FastPass+ Reservation is Easy
I took advantage of the opportunity to order online. The menu that popped up looked similar to the ones I had used during my previous lunch visit.
I could even make alterations to the entrees — leave off a sauce, for instance — and the menu would show me the nutritional information changes for different choices.

On the day of my reservation, I arrived a little early and checked in at the same spot where you confirm your dinner advance dining reservation. The cast member gave me a rose — the customary red one, not the yellow ones that were used during earlier testing — and directed me to a FastPass+ line that was right beside the regular line.

And speaking of lines, they’re still long. Real long. Like, back to The Little Mermaid long. It was spring break though, so I’m hoping it’s not always so crazy.
But if you really want to eat here, be encouraged by the fact that the line generally moves pretty quick. It took about 30 minutes for me to get in the last time from the back of the bridge.

Once in, I went to the podium via the FastPass+ line and was directed to a regular pay kiosk. The cast member confirmed my order and I paid there.

It’s important to note that I could have changed anything or everything about my order at this point — from my selections, to leaving some of the trimmings off of my sandwich.
Normally, I show you the menus closer to the food, but the ordering process is a little different at Be Our Guest, so let’s take a look at them here.

If you aren’t visiting Be Our Guest for lunch via a FastPass+ invitation, you will still be directed to a cast member or kiosk to place your order.

At that time, you’ll be given your rose.

And this is where the two experiences meet up! From there, I went to the drink station, which is self-serve during lunch.

I’ve mentioned it before, but it bears repeating. Real silverware and plates make a Be Our Guest lunch just a little more special. Pick up your flatware, napkins, and condiments on the way to your table.

During lunch you have your choice of places to sit. You can choose the beautifully themed but extremely loud Ballroom.

But if you decide to pass, at least look around — especially at the snow outside!

With its lower ceilings, the West Wing is much quieter. But because of the incredible themeing here in the Beast’s lair, it will probably be crowded. (There wasn’t a single table available on my visit this time.)

Still, duck in long enough to catch a glimpse of the Master’s portrait as he slowly transforms from Prince to Beast!

This is where you’ll find the Enchanted Rose as well.

I chose to sit in the Rose Gallery this time, however. This room is used mostly for lunchtime crowds, although sometimes it’s used at dinner during busy times.
While other rooms in the restaurant are brought to life straight from the film Beauty and the Beast, the Rose Gallery is not. But it has a story of its own. (Of course it does!)

The enormous, rotating music box that dominates the room is said to be a gift from Belle’s father, Maurice, to the happy couple.

It wasn’t long after I found a table that my rose worked its magic, and my food found me. It’s delivered to your table via these beautiful, glass-covered carts.

I began with the Potato Leek Soup. The classic dish is surprisingly light, yet flavorful. It’s been good since the restaurant opened, and I still highly recommend it at both lunch and dinner.

We also tried the Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich which comes with a side of crispy Frites. This replaced the steak sandwich, which was on the original BoG lunch menu.

Served on a warm, crusty Baguette, it’s topped with a Horseradish Cream Sauce that wasn’t overpowering. In fact, I could barely taste it.

Overall, this sammy was less than incredible. I likely wouldn’t order it again. However…
…even though I had enjoyed it before, I couldn’t pass up another chance to try the incredible Braised Pork. The dish is so rich and tender that it’s practically impossible to believe that you’re eating at a counter service restaurant while you enjoy it.

The potatoes are great. The green beans are crispy and perfect. Seriously, this dish is a winner every time.
Now, on to dessert! We began with the Master’s Cupcake — this was my first time trying it!
Moist, Chocolate Cake is crowned and filled with a healthy helping of The Grey Stuff — except not really. You see, The Grey Stuff originally was a whipped Cookies and Cream Panna Cotta…and maybe it still is when it comes out as a special event dessert. But this topping was much lighter and more “whipped creamy” than the panna cotta was on my first few visits.

Maybe I’m wrong — I’m sure some cast members will let me know if it’s the exact same recipe as before — but this seems like a cheaper, thinner version of the original. Anyone have any info on that?
But I also tried the Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake — a favorite of mine for its awesome cream cheesy frosting, of course! This one is a must-try.

But we had also heard rave reviews about the Chocolate Cream Puff. So of course, I had to try it as well.

And with that, another excellent meal at Be Our Guest was in the books!
Overall
Be Our Guest Restaurant continues to be an excellent addition to Magic Kingdom’s lunch offerings, and I really enjoyed the enhanced experience of the FastPass+ option for lunch. It was great to be able to plan ahead, but still have some flexibility. With the option to change my mind about any part of my order when I arrived, and the option to change my dining time, I felt like it was the best of both worlds.
If you haven’t had the chance to eat at Be Our Guest yet, really, carve out some time and do it soon. It such a beautifully, immersive experience. And the food is incredible, too!
And absolutely, if you have the chance to try out FastPass+, don’t pass it up.

I’ll be visiting 8/9-8/16. I am staying on property and have not received an invite for a be our guest fast pass lunch. Any ideas how to get one?
When I go to the MDE site I cannot find the online check in option. I received a letter saying I can start the online checkin process on July 26th. I know someone said not to actually start the process but do I have to wait until that date in order for the online check in option to be seen or am I looking in the wrong place?
When can you start booking your BOG Fast Pass reservation.
I have the invite link from my last trip in May and am assuming I can use it for this one also.
Sadly everything was booked up last time since Disney emailed me the invite 30 days before the trip but today was my 60 mark and it says all is booked up.
Any suggestions?

My daughter desperately wants to eat at Be our Guest during our vacation Aug 20-30, 2014. She just graduated high school this yr and Beauty and the Beast is her favorite Disney movie. We have a reservation at French Quarters for that time. Any chance of getting an invite for 5 adults? This would make her so happy! Please help! Desperate mom.

You will need your 12 digit hotel reservation number and your Disney login information. Go to the site https://beourguestlunch.disney.go.com/Login.aspx. Once you are there, just login like you would for your normal My Disney Experience account. Once you are logged in, it might ask you for your hotel reservation number. For my trip in June, I had to enter the number. I just checked the site for my trip in October and it automatically knew about my hotel reservation for that trip. You will only be able to make one lunch reservation sometime during the first 7 days of your trip. You can start checking now for the lunch Fastpass availability, but don’t panic if it says none are available for your dates. The window seems to be opening up sometime between 30 to 21 days in advance. Just like everyone else has said, there seemed to be no record of this Fastpass anywhere else, but this site. I printed out my confirmation and my food order, just in case I had any problems. Everything worked out smoothly at the restaurant. I just checked in at the desk on the left side right before the walkway into the restaurant and they had a record of my Fastpass. I was directed inside to a kiosk to confirm/change my order. It was great and the meal was my favorite of the entire trip! I hope you have a magical Disney vacation with your family! 🙂

We walked right up to the Fastpass+ check in for the restaurant despite there being a line all the way to the Little Mermaid attraction. Checking in, waiting for our turn at the order kiosk, paying and receiving our food took a total of about 30 minutes on a busy June touring day during peak lunch hours. We spent another hour eating and walking around taking photos throughout the restaurant. You could probably be in and out an hour or less if you eat quickly and skip the photo taking. Using my reservation number, it appears to only let me book for the people in my room so the people on my reservation. Has anyone been successful booking a lunch reservation for themselves and people staying on another reservation? We are traveling with my parents and we put our four year old on their reservation because she will sleep in their room.
Just wanted to give an update to my situation. We had made a reservation for lunch for 3 but ended up having a party of 4. They let us in no problem whatsoever. It was a great experience!

Hi I have tried everything to get a reservation at be our guest I even called early as soon as they open and 180 days in and I still could not get a reservation I keep trying going on second visit in October and would love to go to be our guest restaurant my mother and I both love beauty and the beast and my mother is in a wheel chair so it’s hard for her to wait in the heat so I keep trying for a reservation but I have no luck a fast pass would be great. Thank you
Yes I can put it out there that you do not need an invite from Disney to book this although the 12 digit resort reservation number was hard to track down had to call Disney twice before reaching someone who knew what I needed. I did have luck speaking to someone in dining though. My window to book online opened up at 25 days prior to my vacation arrival date and although my trip is longer then 7 days it seems the website only allows you to pick a reservation during the first 7 days of your trip. Also if you don’t see the time you want just keep refreshing the page or keep trying and it will keep giving you different times. Hope this helps!!
I, too, made a BOG Fastpass+ lunch reservation without receiving an invite. The availability opened up about 24 days prior to our arrival date (though I began trying it much earlier). Through another blog I followed these instructions to find the 12-digit resort reservation number needed: If you click on make a payment in My Disney Experience that number should appear in the address bar. It did and it worked! As others have likely already commented, save a screenshot of the BOG Fastpass+ confirmation before closing out the screen.
I am arriving WDW on September 13th. We tried booking BOG for Dinner 180 days out and nearly every day since then! NO LUCK.
At 60 Days out I tried for fast pass lunch reservations. No luck there either.
Today- 25 Days out from the Day we want to go to MK- I got a fast pass lunch reservation!
It’s later than I’d like, but hey- I’d given up hope of getting a glimpse.
This is the 3rd time we will be going to WDW since Be Our Guest Opened, and Finally we get to see inside and try it out.
Perseverance is important- almost to an obsession to get the reservations. So keep trying if you don’t get it immediately.
I’m trying to obtain the fast plus for my daughter for when we go in October. It looks like I need to just keep checking everyday. Thank you for all of your advice.
Hello! We’ll be visiting MK next September 25 and I was checking every day since day 30 before our date, sure enough on day 27 (yesterday!) the window opened and I was able to make my reservation and pick our order, very easy to use, we’re all set to lunch at BoG ! Thanks for all the info!

Update: I just booked my Fastpass+ lunch reservation today for Be Our Guest exactly 27 days out from the day I wanted to go. Everything seems to still be working just like it did during my trip in June even though they are handing out paper Fastpasses at the restaurant each morning as well.
Rosemary – Just try booking your lunch Fastpass+ exactly 27 days in advance of the day you want to go.

You can book beginning 27 days before the day you want to go. The Fastpasses fill up quickly, so book it as soon as you can. If you don’t like the times that show up the first time, just keep refreshing the page until you see a time that fits for you.
Michelle – The BOG Fastpass+ does not use one of your three regular Fastpasses. Also, it won’t show up in My Disney Experience, either. It’s a good idea to print out a copy of the confirmation when you make it and take it with you to the restaurant just in case.

I can’t figure out how to leave off the sandwich dressing when preselecting meals with fastpass.
Katrina – I couldn’t do it online either, but once you arrive at the restaurant, you will go to a kiosk where a cast member will review your order with you and you can ask them to leave the sauce off at that time. Have a great lunch! 🙂
I would love to eat lunch at BOG. So I’m trying to get a fast pass for Dec. 7 or 10, 2014. I really hope that I get an invitation!!
I do not think i am understanding how this works. do i go under fast passes like i would book a ride? Will the be our guest restaurant shop up there? I am not clear how i book a fast pass for it

You can still eat there, Sherry, but you will have to stand in line for lunch or make a reservation for dinner.
Heather, it’s not listed with the other fast passes and it doesn’t count as one of your 3 for the day. It’s really just a lunch time reservation. Follow the link posted above in directions to get to the be our guest website. You’ll need to know your reservation number.
How can I link my friends to a reservation at Be Our Guest. When I try to book a reservation using my id no. It shows 2 people but I need it for 5 people total. the additional 3 are on my friends and family list. Thanks for your help. Check in Jan 16, 2015.
I wasn’t able to link my mom because she wasn’t on our reservation, I was however able to order her food through the fast pass. We had no problems having her with us even though her name wasn’t on the reservation.
