Great news! The Epcot Food and Wine Festival Eat to the Beat Concert Series has been announced for 2012!

Many of you know that I’m not a big fan of the foam-on-food trend.
What’s the foam-on-food trend you ask? The foam-on-food trend is one of the molecular gastronomy fads sweeping the nation (well, it’s been sweeping the nation for a couple of years and has now made it to Disney World), and this one means that every food and its brother seems to have a “foam” on top these days.
Some foams are bubbly and soapy looking like the one pictured below (the name of this restaurant will be reserved to protect the innocent, because it’s a very good restaurant that I like a lot and I’m hoping they’ll stop doing the foam thing soon). Update: Hoop-Dee-Doo will now remain open in Fall 2012.Update: Bistro de Paris will remain closed through early December. New name for Bistro de Paris will be “Monsieur Paul” — a fitting tribute to Chef Paul Bocuse!
There have been a lot of updates about restaurant closures lately, and I wanted to share the latest information we have so that it’s easier to make (or cancel or change ;-D) your Advance Dining Reservations.
In today’s news, the Signature restaurant Bistro de Paris in Epcot’s France pavilion will be closed for renovations starting July 1, 2012, and lasting until the end of October.
According to emails being sent out to guests, Advance Dining Reservations are being moved to Chefs de France.
This closing is possibly due to the Epcot France bakery expansion about which we’ve previously reported. The French bakery, Boulangerie Patisserie, is slated for many changes, including an updated menu, expanded kitchen, and more.

On our most recent trip to the magic, it was time to revisit one of our favoritest spots, Beaches and Cream Soda Shop!
Located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Beaches and Cream Soda Shop has long been a favorite of Disney World guests, featuring lots of decorative touches that whisk guests right back to beach vacations of their childhoods.
With vintage “beach balls” scattered throughout, giant ice cream cones lighting your way, a jivin’ jukebox playing tunes you remember from the 50’s and 60’s, and a nostalgic and simple menu, you’ll feel like a kid again…and YOUR kids will love it just as much.
Seating is either in big pink booths or at small, white wrought iron tables. If you’re in a rush or just looking for a bit more fun, ask for a stool at the counter where you can watch the chefs and servers work their magic on classic burgers and massive ice cream sundaes.

You know how much I adore the recently opened Karamell-Küche in Epcot’s Germany pavilion. From caramel corn to salted, chocolate-covered caramels, this place is one of my very favorites for a snack at any time!
And on a recent visit, I got to try the new Caramel Corn cupcake! A combo of two of the new caramel store’s best products: cupcakes and incredible caramel corn!
This is an addition to the cupcake line-up at Karamell-Küche, which currently includes caramel vanilla, caramel chocolate, and combined vanilla chocolate (chocolate cake with vanilla frosting) with caramel versions. The caramel corn version is [Read more…]

We’ve been anxiously awaiting the opening of the renovated Tutto Italia, along with the addition of the Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar at the Italy pavilion in Epcot!
This week, we shared Tutto Italia menus and exterior photos when the restaurant’s new entrance and patio were unveiled!
Now, we get to bring you inside! First up — the Ribbon Cutting at the Grand Opening of Tutto Gusto and Tutto Italia!
Mickey and Minnie showed up in their Italian costumes and celebrated along with Nick Valenti, CEO of Patina Restaurant Group; Joachim Splichal, Chef and founder of Patina; and Erin Youngs, VP of Epcot.
Next, we went into Tutto Gusto — welcoming the cool atmosphere and air conditioning!
As promised, Tutto Gusto — Italy’s new Wine Cellar — is themed like a wine cave inside. Large and small tables are set up around a long bar, and a wall of gorgeous wines punctuate the darkened room.
