Dining in Disneyland columnist Heather Sievers reports on some serious deliciousness from Disneyland!

The mini cupcake sampler from Marceline’s Confectionery has been on my radar for months. As a regular visitor to Marceline’s in Downtown Disney, I’ve been eyeing it the past several trips. The problem: we’re usually on our way to dinner or to the parks, and a box of cupcakes is not something I’m interested in carrying around.

At the Royal Palace Restaurant aboard the Disney Dream, you’ve gotta try this Avocado-Citrus Salad. The healthy ingredients are a great way to counteract all of those desserts you’re getting at Cabanas 😉

Let’s go back in time to the 1950s when TV was the latest technology and food was simple and delicious. Meatloaf, fried chicken, pot roast — you can’t go wrong!

Over at 50s Prime Time Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, get ready for a fun, interactive meal in Mom’s kitchen. That’s right — the whole place is decorated like a kitchen straight out of the 1950s, including accessories, decorations, calendars, and even those old black-and-white TVs!

But make sure you eat all your veggies and keep your elbows off the table… you never know when Mom’s watching!

Atmosphere

When you walk into 50s Prime Time Cafe, you’ll find yourself right in between Dad’s Living Room and Mom’s Kitchen. Dad’s Living Room is the waiting area for the restaurant, while Mom’s Kitchen is the main dining room. Here’s a tip: When you check in, ask for a TV table. While they can’t guarantee it, cross your fingers — you’ll see why later!

Thanks again to Sarah Holodick for reporting and reviewing from one of our favorite spots, ‘Ohana in Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Resort!

Back in July I made a dinner reservation to go to ‘Ohana in January. It had been several years since Matt last went, and over 16 years for me! I don’t remember much, if anything, of what was served back then. Our reservation was for 7:15 p.m. and we arrived early to have a drink at Tambu Lounge.

We noticed that they’ve expanded their appetizer options since the last time we were there. They also have added a page dedicated to the Tambu Lounge specialty cocktails, which when I last saw it was simply the generic property-wide menu. We both highly recommend the Backscratcher! I checked in at the podium and had about a 15 minute wait until we were seated for dinner.

Stuff That’s Rad: Disney Gummy Kabobs

Another thing that’s rad from Dining in Disneyland columnist Heather Sievers!!

Just recently I was at The Candy Palace on Main Street in Disneyland when these adorable gummy kabobs caught my eye. My boys were not with me, so as a little surprise treat, I picked up 2 of the Fab 5 Disney character ones that include Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald & Goofy in that order from top to bottom.

Each character is its own piece, so there are actually 5 pieces skewered on the stick. On our next visit, I found the Pixar gummy kabobs at Marceline’s in Downtown Disney.
