WOW! One week can make a BIG difference in Disney World’s wait times. You may see some reasonable wait times in Magic Kingdom one day, then the next, the wait times at those same attractions SKYROCKET. What gives? Well, we’ve got two words: holiday. break.
The Disney World wait times saw a massive increase around the week of Christmas. In fact, one attraction reached a 150-minute wait! Now, let’s assess the data and see just how busy the parks really were during the holidays.
Things are constantly changing in Disney World, and well, we know that’s the whole point.
The year 2024 will bring on a LOT of new changes to Disney World, including the return of the Disney Dining Plan, the return of all-day park hopping, and even the end of park pass reservations for most visitors. But one Disney World restaurant is ALSO changing to mark the New Year.
Are you as obsessed with Disney history as we are?
Yes, we’ve listened to a ton of Disney history podcasts, and we’ve OBVIOUSLY watched Behind The Attraction on Disney+… MULTIPLE times. We made sure we enjoyed the special Christmas with Walt Disney film, too. Disney transportation has a rich history that we’re fascinated with, and now we can see Disney transportation history IN ACTION on New Year’s Day.
When you visit Disney World, do you also visit the water parks?
As you may know, Disney World has two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Over the past three years, though, we’ve never seen both open at the same time: if one is open, the other is usually closed. Right now, Blizzard Beach is open, but we’re seeing something on the Disney World calendar that makes us wonder if it’s closing again soon.
Although things usually quiet down a little in Disney World in January, this upcoming January could be a little different.
That’s because a lot of things are RETURNING to Disney World for the first time since 2020 on January 9th. Park pass reservations are going to be a thing of the past for almost all visitors. The Disney Dining Plan is coming back. All-day park hopping is returning. But something interesting is happening before that.
Sometimes we question whether or not we should skip the Disney trip and do something else for our next vacation.
The beach, the mountains, a non-Disney cruise… they’re all options. When we picture that, though, we just have this heartbreaking image of Mickey being really sad. Plus, there’s something that just keeps pulling us back to the Most Magical Place on Earth. It could be the rides, the food, the entertainment, or a mix of all three. But, let’s be super honest with ourselves, here. It’s mostly the food.
If you’ve been to Disney World, you know that sometimes the unexpected happens.
First, the weather is notoriously unpredictable. It could be raining one minute and all sunshine and hot the next. Then there are the ride closures. Some are planned (mostly for refurbishments), but sometimes rides just go down for whatever reason. Well, on December 30th, 2023, it happened to some of Disney World’s most popular rides.
The holiday season is wrapping up in Disney World, and you know what that means.
It means we’re already looking forward to 2024. We’ve already seen 2024 merchandise in the parks and online, and we are ready for what 2024 will bring, including LOADS of changes. But now is also the time for special New Year’s 2024 snacks — we tried our first recently, but we just discovered MORE 2024 snacks. Come with us to try them out!
So the saying goes, “New Year, New You,” right?
That might mean different things to different people. Maybe it means you’re going to celebrate something big in 2024 at Disney World (even if you’re just celebrating BEING at Disney World). However, did you know a trip to Disney World could also make you healthier? We know a lot of folks make resolutions to be healthier in the New Year, so why not do it at the most Magical Place on Earth?
