Disney dropped some massive news this week, but the biggest might have been concerning the new Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

The Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be a separate offering from the existing Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. Like those passes, though, the new Premier Pass will allow Disney World visitors to skip the standby lines at rides and get access to those rides’ Lightning Lanes, which will have shorter waits. As I’m sure you remember, earlier this year we saw both Disney World and Disneyland do away with the Genie+ skip-the-line system and introduce Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass. But like I was saying, just when we really got the hang of this new system, Disney went ahead and introduced a whole new pass — Lightning Lane Premier Pass. After we recovered from the shock, we had a moment to check out the details and that’s when we noticed that this brand-new pass isn’t even out yet and there’s already one big problem with it!

While Lightning McQueen and his friends may have moved out of Hollywood Studios, they will eventually have another home in a different Disney World park!

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is now closed

This past August, at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, it was announced that Disney World would be getting some significant upgrades, including eight new rides! Two of those new rides will be located in Magic Kingdom as part of a brand-new Cars expansion. While we are super excited for Cars to come to Magic Kingdom, we have some bad news about the rally race ride that will be part of this expansion.
