UPDATED October 30, 2024
Pandora – The World of Avatar is an entirely immersive land in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. Those who have seen the movie AVATAR on which the land is based may recall that space travel to Pandora was limited to members of the Resource Development Administration (RDA) seeking its own gain of Pandora’s unobtanium.
But now, Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE) is able to welcome interplanetary travelers (that’s you and me!) on peaceful expeditions to Pandora’s Valley of Mo’ara as restoration of the once-exploited land takes place to explore its uniquely beautiful scenery and Na’vi culture.
When the land (Animal Kingdom’s newest) opened on May 27, 2017, it delivered two new attractions to the park, a new restaurant with its own themed menu, a drink and snack station, and a new merchandise shop dedicated entirely to the land.
Pandora Attractions
Avatar Flight of Passage
Get ready for your own Na’vi Rite of Passage: the riding on the back of what the Na’vi call an Ikran (a banshee) for a stunning flight over the Valley of Mo’ara.
Flight of Passage is a 3-D flight simulation experience. This incredible and unique ride has been (rightfully) so successful that it remains one the most popular attractions in all of Disney World! You can find everything you need to know about this popular attraction here.
Height requirement: 44 inches
Ages: Kids, Tweens, Teens, Adults
Rider Access: Standby line, Early Theme Park Entry for eligible Disney World Resort hotel guests; Lightning Lane Single Pass (pay-per-ride) option; Lightning Lane Premier Pass inclusion
Na’vi River Journey
Na’vi River Journey takes guests on a relaxing boat ride through a beautiful bioluminescent rainforest.
Ultimately, the journey carries you to see the Na’vi Shaman of songs (which is truly one of the most impressive audio-animatronic figures in Disney World).
Height requirement: None
Ages: All
Rider Access: Standby line, Early Theme Park Entry for eligible Disney World Resort hotel guests; Lightning Lane Multi Pass option and Lightning Lane Premier Pass inclusion
Pandora Dining
The primary restaurant in Pandora is Satu’li Canteen, a Counter Service location that celebrates the culture and art of the Na’vi of Pandora.
The menu is “inspired by Pandora’s bounty,” with an international influence to the cuisine. Customizable bowls and Steamed Pods (twists on Bao Buns) along with unique drinks and desserts are available at this lunch and dinner spot.
Pongu Pongu (which means “Party Party” in the language of Na’vi) is dedicated to serving beverages and snacks to guests visiting Pandora.
This stop, as the story goes, is run by an expat who paid a visit to Pandora… and loved it so much he decided to stay and open up shop!
Along with non-alcoholic and alcoholic sips including the signature Night Blossom, Pongu Pongu is also home to an exclusive Pandora snack: Pongu Lumpia, a spring roll filled with cream cheese and pineapple.
The ACE Mobile Treat Cart also offers cold drinks, frozen novelty treats, and even a few breakfast items to start your day in Pandora.

Shopping and Merchandise
Windtraders is Pandora’s primary merchandise location.
Here, you’ll find souvenirs dedicated specifically to Pandora — The World of Avatar.
Beyond merchandise, Windtraders offers the chance for you to adopt your very own Banshee at the Rookery!
These interactive Banshee toys perch on your shoulder (with a magnet), and you can control their sounds and movements as they join you on your journey!
Windtraders also offers the unique ACE Avatar Maker experience and souvenir.
The ACE Avatar Maker (a machine) scans your face and creates an Avatar Na’vi for you based on what you look like. You’ll get a Na’vi Avatar figure that looks just like you! Here’s an example:
If you want to make an Avatar figure, you can do so for $79.99 (and Annual Passholders can use their discount on this souvenir as well). However, you must be present to create the figure — a photo won’t do!
Colors of Mo’ara is different from any other face-painting station you’ll find in the parks.
The designs here are unique to Pandora, with design options inspired by the Na’vi!
More Pandora Fun
According to the Pandora Field Guide (published for the Land’s opening in 2017), “Fluency in the Na’vi language… is the ultimate sign of respect.” To that end, we’re sharing a few phrases below from the Field Guide to help you on your journey:
- Kaltxì [kal- T’IH] — Hello
- Oeru syaw… [WEH-roo syow] — My name is…
- Irayo [ee-RAH-yo] — Thanks
- Oel ngati kameie [well NGAH-tee KAH-mey-yeh] — I see you
- Rutxe [roo-T’EH] — Please
- Eywa ngahu [EY-wah NGAH-hoo] — Eywa be with you
