UPDATED June 5, 2024
Pixar Place Hotel is NOW OPEN in Disneyland Resort! Pixar Place Hotel is the result of a transformation of what was previously Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. Pixar Pier Hotel officially made its fully transformed debut on January 30th, 2024.
The hotel has been reimagined with a Pixar theme, and the hotel “weave(s) the artistry of Pixar into its comfortable, contemporary setting.”
Artwork and decor gives guests the chance to gain “a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters.” These curated pieces play a huge role in revealing the creative journey of the artists who bring the beloved Pixar stories to life.
One such piece is the famous Pixar Lamp balancing on top of its ball. This lobby centerpiece sits underneath hanging sculptures that represent characters from Finding Nemo and more.
According to the Chairman of the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products division, Josh D’Amaro, Pixar Place Hotel is a spot where you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a Pixar art gallery as evidenced in one of the new lobby murals below.
As D’Amaro also shared, you’ll find new interpretations of your favorite Pixar pals!
Pixar Place Hotel Atmosphere and Lobby
Before we step into the lobby, here is a look at some of the exterior changes as you walk up to the entrance of the hotel.
Welcome to the Pixar Place Hotel!
The lobby has been completely transformed with Pixar theming, characters, and more.
The check-in area boasts sleek new desks, modern lighting, and warm wood paneling.
You’ll find it to your left once you enter the lobby.
There are so many little Pixar touches everywhere you look. For instance, an area of the lobby is dedicated to Soul, where you can check out a mural inspired by the movie as well as listen to JOE GARDNER from Soul!
Joe can be found serenading guests on the piano in the lobby five days a week.
This isn’t really a traditional meet-and-greet, per se, but you can stop to listen to Joe’s tunes as you walk through the lobby! But Joe’s not the only Pixar pal you’ll see…
You remember Riley’s imaginary friend in Inside Out, don’t you? Yes, it’s BING BONG!
Bing Bong can be found wandering around the lobby and the outdoor area on the third floor! Disney shared that he’ll be at the hotel seven days a week.
Pixar Place Hotel Dining
Table Service Dining
Great Maple, a Southern California favorite, has opened a flagship restaurant on the first floor or Pixar Place Hotel.
Get ready for some “comfort food with a twist” for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
Quick Service Dining
Great Maple also operates the other food and drink locations at the hotel, like the new grab-and-go coffee shop in the lobby called Sketch Pad Café. Assorted pastries as well as espresso coffee drinks and tea are on offer here.
The pastries — including croissants, bagels, muffins and breads — are made by the Röckenwagner Bakery. Extra indulgences include Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies and the Salted Caramel Brownie. You can also start your day with a substantial dish like a Mini Frittata, Avocado Toast, or Pizza Bagel. Fresh fruit, yogurt, and more are up for grabs for a quick bite, as well.
Pool Bar
The rooftop pool bar, Small Bytes, serves up salads, wraps, cheese plates, and more.
Mini floats and specialty sodas offer refreshing options for all ages. A full bar and Signature beverages are also available. And adults can enjoy grown-up floats like the Margarita Float and Mimosa Float… or you can create-your-own!
Pixar Place Hotel Pool and Water Features
Get ready to make a BIG SPLASH at the Pixel Pool and take a ride on Crush’s Surfin’ Slide!
The 186-foot long Crush waterslide can be quite the adventure for those who want to enjoy some fun in the water.
Additionally, guests can look forward to a new water play area inspired by Finding Nemo: Nemo’s Cove! It features a pop-jet splash pad starring none other than Hank — the septopus from Finding Dory.
The outdoor seating is spacious yet cozy, and follows a more subtle Pixar theming with colors that are reminiscent of the classic Pixar films like Toy Story.
But the fun doesn’t have to end when the sun sets! A family play court has been added to the deck area with plenty of fun activities inspired by Pixar’s short films.
Some of the short films receiving a nod in the area include La Luna, Bao, For the Birds, and Burrow.
Give them a watch if you haven’t seen them yet!
