We’re just a few short weeks away from the new year starting, and we already know that a LOT is happening in Disney World right at the start of the new year. With loads of construction and changes on the way for the resort, the new year will be kicking off with a bang as those changes start to take place. Yes, we know WHAT’S coming — a new Villains Land and Cars-themed Land in Magic Kingdom, Muppets Courtyard is becoming Monsters, Inc. Land in Hollywood Studios, and Tropical Americas aka Pueblo Esperanza is taking over Dinoland U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom — but what will all of this construction actually look like in the parks? Disney World will see significant changes when the new year rolls around. The first round of closures will hit DinoLand U.S.A., and we can expect to see construction start on projects in all four parks. So many new offerings will open, including two new lounges, Test Track 3.0, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, Disney Starlight, The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure, and the Disney Villains stage show. Whew! That is a lot of change in one year!
