Update:Â The 50th Anniversary MagicBand may be sold out when you go to look for it, though there is a potential that it may be restocked in the future. Be sure to keep checking what MagicBands are available for you to purchase ahead of your trip to see if it becomes available again in the future.
The start of Disney World’s 18-month-long 50th Anniversary celebration is just a few weeks away!
When the 50th Anniversary fun begins, you’ll be able to catch new fireworks in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, grab specially themed merchandise, hop on the new Ratatouille-themed attraction, and MORE. Now, Disney has made a special 50th Anniversary item available, but only select guests can grab it!

Disney has announced a LOT of new entertainment for the 50th anniversary including the new fireworks show at Magic Kingdom, Harmonious at EPCOT, and a new show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Today, Disney made an announcement about upcoming fireworks testing for one of the new shows coming to Disney World in October!

With the 50th Anniversary Celebration kicking off on October 1st, we’ve been spotting small changes throughout Disney World, like the addition of the 50th Anniversary sign on Cinderella Castle and new banners in the parks. Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration is going to be MASSIVE!
We’re expecting new fireworks shows, new cavalcades, new daytime entertainment, and even a new ride. Plus, more restaurants with special offerings will be open by then, so you certainly won’t get bored during your visit. However, if you can’t make it on October 1st, don’t worry — Disney World is hosting a TV special for those at home!
If you’re heading to Disney World this fall, there are a few things you need to know!
The 50th Anniversary celebration kicks off on October 1st, meaning that it’s likely going to be crowded through the rest of this year. There are also new planning tools for your vacation, including the Disney Genie service that launches soon. And if you’re staying at a Disney World Resort, then you need to know about the new Early Theme Park Entry perk!
Love spending a little extra time in the Disney World theme parks at night? Well, if you’re staying at a Disney World Deluxe Resort, a Deluxe Villa, or other select hotels, you could get the chance to do just that with Disney’s new hotel perk — Extended Evening Hours.
Extended Evening Hours, which will begin in October, allows guests at Disney World Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa Resorts, or other select hotels to stay in select parks on certain nights for an extended period of time. So far we’ve shared a look at some of the dates that have been announced for this special perk, but now Disney has released the list of rides that will be open during these special evening hours!

What a week we’ve had at Disney World! We’ve been trying to make sense of Disney Genie (and we hope we’ve helped you make sense of it, too). We’ve been checking out all the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival booths that have opened early. We’ve been to some restaurant reopenings, too! But we’ve also been to the resorts to see what’s new!
