What Alcoholic Drinks are Included on the Disney Dining Plan?
Last month, we told you about the non-alcoholic specialty drinks that are available with the 2018 Disney Dining Plan — a post that will keep evolving as we learn more about what does and does not count as a beverage on the DDP. Specialty drinks include such tasty gems as Artisanal Milkshakes and Fresh Smoothies!
Review: Limited Time Dark and Smoky Drink at Paddlefish in Disney Springs (See It To Believe It)
If you’re celebrating Halloween at Walt Disney World and you’re also a grown up who likes to try new things, Paddlefish in Disney Springs has exactly what you’re after. It’s called the Dark and Smoky, and it’s creeptacular.
Now, you might be thinking, “Wait. What? That’s not dark OR smoky!” Stay with me. Because this drink is a trick before it’s a treat. The concoction of Mezcal and Pumpkin Spice Syrup is innocent enough. But beside it lays a sliver of darkness. [Read more…]
Rumor: Will Alcoholic Beverages Be Included on the 2018 Disney Dining Plan?
The internet is buzzing with a new rumor that a VERY significant change might be in the works for the 2018 Disney Dining Plan. Will alcoholic beverages be included with Dining Plan meal credits?
According to the British Disney fan site, The Dibb, “Guests will now [Editor’s Note: as of January 1, 2018] be able to enjoy a choice of either one speciality non-alcoholic or alcoholic* (over 21s only) beverage to accompany each meal.”
If this is correct, those who do not imbibe — due either to age or preference — would be eligible to receive a single serving specialty drink such as an Artisanal Milkshake, Fresh Smoothie, Premium Hot Chocolate, or Soda, Coffee, or Tea. (Presumably, sodas would still receive refills as always, though the post did not state that specifically.) [Read more…]

UPDATED With Wine and Beer Menus: News! Be Our Guest Restaurant to Serve Beer and Wine in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom
Interesting news coming out of the Magic Kingdom today about Be Our Guest Restaurant!
Sadly, I’m on vacation (yay!) and couldn’t be at the Be Our Guest Restaurant Media Event happening right now (boo!); but thanks to social media we’re getting great info to share with you!
Magic Kingdom Park No Longer “Dry”
According to several of our friends at the event, the big news is that Disney’s Magic Kingdom will now be serving alcohol for the first time ever.
Located in a *formerly* “dry” park where no alcohol was served (based on Walt’s wishes for Disneyland Park, where alcohol is only served at the private Club 33), Be Our Guest Restaurant will be serving alcoholic beer and wine for their guests.
According to Stuart McGuire, Beverage Director, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, “As part of the overall theming, we wanted to offer wine that enhances the guest experience and complements the French-inspired cuisine.”
Be Our Guest Restaurant Wine Menu
“The wines focus primarily on France’s famous wine-growing regions, including Champagne, Alsace, Loire, Rhone, Burgundy and Bordeaux,” says McGuire. Check out the full Be Our Guest Restaurant Wine and Beer Menu.
Be Our Guest Restaurant Beer Menu
According to McGuire, “We’ll also offer the leading French beer, Kronenbourg 1664. And, staying in the general region, we’ll also offer Belgian beers.” We love that they’ll have some Chimay [Read more…]
Review: Tangierine Cafe’s Grown-Up Slushies in Epcot
Nestled in the back of Epcot’s Tangierine Café, you’ll find a lovely little spot that serves pastries and an assortment of coffee drinks, some laced with liqueurs.
At the same counter, you will also find a variety of grown-up slushies that prove to be very alluring on a hot (insert the season here) Florida day.
Sips
As I headed to the counter to try one of the flavors — termed daiquiris — I wasn’t really sure which one I was feelin’ of the coffee, tangerine, and strawberry options.
I had tried the Tangerine Daiquiri YEARS before, and had really enjoyed it. (If you’ve ever had the Moroccorita, the consistency is very similar.) But maybe it was time to broaden my horizons.
Since I was being all wishy-washy, the helpful cast member gave me samples to help seal the deal — one Tangerine, and one Strawberry. (Helpful cast members are the BEST.)
Now, I can’t promise that you’ll score samples, but it never hurts to ask!
The Tangerine was delicious and refreshing, but I found the Strawberry to be a little sweet for my taste. So, being the weirdo that I am, I asked for a combo Tangerine-Strawberry Daiquiri. Our helpful cast member continued to be [Read more…]
Review: NEW Tipsy Duck Drink in Epcot’s China Pavilion
There’s a new drink at the Joy of Tea stand in Epcot’s China Pavilion — Tipsy Ducks in Love!
The cast members at Joy of Tea were selling this VERY enthusiastically. It’s basically iced coffee and tea, plus whipped cream, plus a generous pour of Jim Beam, plus chocolate.
I don’t normally drink bourbon, but the cast members were so, well, enthusiastic about it, that I decided to give it a [Read more…]
