It’s finally Christmas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Now that the stage is set for all the new holiday offerings in the park, we had to get our PAWS on this new holiday treat.
RED ALERT! A favorite boozy milkshake of ours has vanished from the face of the EARTH!!
We learned of its disappearance when we visited Trilo-Bites in Disney’s Animal Kingdom today and didn’t see it on their menu. While it might be too soon to tell if the Smokey Bones Milkshake has gone extinct, the new shake we found on Trilo-Bite’s menu isn’t really doing it for us!
Hi, there! We’re back with another DFB Video today, and we’re talking about snacks that are EXCLUSIVE to Disney World’s Animal Kingdom!
Animal Kingdom is a truly immersive park, transporting guests from Africa to Asia and even on to Dinoland, U.S.A.! The incredible theming extends, in many cases, to the food, which means that guests will find certain snacks available only in Animal Kingdom! We’re sharing those snacks with you today in our latest DFB YouTube Video, so get ready for a wild time!

Much to our delight (and hopefully yours, too!), we just found some new sweet and spirited treats at Animal Kingdom’s Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Africa!
That’s right, our spot to grab a Dole Whip in Animal Kingdom has added something special to the classic Disney treat, as well as to its own unique Malva Cake Sundae!
It’s no secret it has been hot in Central Florida this summer — and fall so far! We’ve been keeping you updated on the free water in the parks. But while we were at Animal Kingdom we found some changes to the Ice Cream and Slushie locations, and that made us feel cool, so we’re sharing them with you!
First up is perhaps the most colorful Ice Cream Truck we’ve ever seen — the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck!
We found a bunch of changes in Animal Kingdom when we were there visiting. Check out what we found on our culinary safari of Disney’s Animal Kingdom this week!
We’ll start our tour out where we always to – on Discovery Island.
It was certainly a surprise to stop by Pongu Pongu last week and no longer see the spot’s signature snack — the Pongu Lumpia — on the posted menu signboard.
But that made it an even happier surprise to see that the pineapple cream cheese roll is suddenly back on the menu this week, nearly as quickly as it disappeared! Here is the menu today… [Read more…]
We have treat for you today, as we stop by one of our favorite kiosks in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Mr. Kamal’s!
This little cart, located on the path that meanders between Africa and Asia behind the Tree of Life, has been home to some of our favorite vegetarian snacks for ages.
Recently, we enjoyed the falafel here, and it’s pretty decent.
In the past, it’s been my go-to spot for vegetarian snacks. They’ve included the aforementioned falafel, hummus, edamame, Asian noodle salad, and samosas.
Sadly, the samosas are off the menu for now. But in their place, Mr. Kamal has debuted another snack. Let’s check it out.
So, I know that when I think of delicious Pan Asian or African food, I immediately think of french fries. Don’t you?
I dunno. Maybe Mr. Kamal’s been vacationing. In Belgium maybe? With a little side trip to Greece? (Hey, if Disney isn’t gonna give us the backstory, we’re just gonna have to make it up ourselves.) [Read more…]

Jambo! Welcome back to Harambe Market at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, one of our favorite places for wild theme park snacks!
Harambe Market is truly an experience. Much like the rest of Animal Kingdom, the theming is spectacular, and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to Storybook, Africa! This is a fairly new restaurant – you can check out our full review from last year’s opening here – and we love the set up.
As you can see from the entrance sign, the snacks here are a little different than what you’d find in the other three theme parks, and ordering is different, too. Each type of snack has a different window to order from: Chef Mwanga’s Ribs Shop, Kitamu Grill, Famous Sausages, and Wanjohi Refreshment (but we’re told you can order any item from any window except Wanjohi Refreshments, which only serves drinks).
